Yuan Lai Shi Cha Cha Ya

Chapter 9 Drumming and Beating to Break Off the Engagement

Qin Yige was wearing a pink pajama with cartoon patterns, her long hair casually tied back, and a suspicious sesame seed clinging to the corner of her lips.

That sesame seed… was hilarious.

At the same time, the aroma of cooked meat wafted into Shang Sheng’s nostrils.

"Move in with me? What are you thinking?" Qin Yige found him hilarious. He wanted to live with her? Dreaming!

Shang Sheng took out his phone from his pocket and handed it to her: "You tell Grandma."

"Tell her what?"

"That you disagree with me living here."

Qin Yige glared at him: "Shang Sheng, you're so scheming all the time, don't you get tired? Why don't you do this kind of thing that offends people yourself? Besides, she's your grandmother, not mine, so you should be the one to say it."

"Not saying it?"

"Not saying it!"

Shang Sheng put away his phone and walked straight inside.

Realizing his action, Qin Yige immediately closed the half-open door, and without thinking, pushed her pregnant belly forward, blocking the man's advance.

The two bodies pressed against each other without warning, and Shang Sheng's steps faltered.

Qin Yige, with her usual carefree demeanor, hugged his waist and pushed him outwards with all her might: "Get out, get out! You're not allowed in, this is my territory!"

However, no matter how she struggled and pushed, the person at the door remained as still as a statue.

"Qin Yige," the man suddenly spoke after a moment.

"Don't call me that!" Was it her imagination, or did Shang Sheng's voice sound a little different...

"If you keep moving, you won't get to celebrate Children's Day next year!"

Qin Yige looked up: ???

Faced with her bewildered expression, he said lightly: "As far as I know, Chu Rang sent you a gift for Children's Day this year."

"Yeah, so what? You didn't send one yourself, and now you want to stop others from sending one? Shang Sheng, what are you up to?"

Chu Rang and the others had accidentally seen her parents giving her a Children's Day gift, and in the group chat, they'd playfully insisted on sending her one too.

And then, they actually did.

Since they were willing to send gifts, and faced with the temptation of luxury goods, she'd readily accepted.

The man glanced at the girl in his arms, that sesame seed still stubbornly clinging to the corner of her lips.

He subtly changed the subject: "If I were you, I'd look in the mirror and wipe off that sesame seed on your mouth!"

Sesame seed?

Qin Yige unceremoniously wiped her lips with the back of her hand, but there was nothing on her hand except for a gleaming oil stain.

She then used her other hand to wipe her lips.

In front of Shang Sheng, she didn't need to maintain any image; after all, she had made a fool of herself in front of him hundreds of times more than a decade ago.

Indeed, there was a sesame seed on the back of her hand… no, it was food!

Her face flushed slightly, and she turned to wash it off. After just two steps, she heard a "click" behind her.

Oh no!

Qin Yige turned around. Shang Sheng had not only walked in but also saw her messy apartment, and his brow furrowed.

Qin Yige felt as if her privacy had been completely exposed to him. What made it even more agonizing was that she had just taken off her black bra and casually tossed it onto the pile of clothes on the sofa.

As if by coincidence, Shang Sheng's gaze landed directly on the clothes on the sofa…

So awkward!

She was instantly so ashamed she felt like crying. Without bothering to wash her hands, Qin Yige rushed over, stood on her tiptoes, and tried to cover his eyes: "Don't look!"

"Shang Sheng, who let you in!"

Qin Yige was genuinely close to tears. This… well, what could be called 'unseemly' side of her was exposed to her nemesis, and who could remain calm about that!

Even more so than her bra, what she absolutely couldn't let him see was the roasted chicken on the table.

Shang Sheng grabbed her small hand that was trying to cover his eyes, his eyes narrowing slightly: "If the Qin family can't afford a maid, just say so. You're my fiancée now, Shang Sheng, I'll pay for it!"

"Who wants your stinking money!" Qin Yige gritted her teeth. She did have a maid, but she only came periodically to tidy up her room.

She yanked her hand back and ran to the side, frantically covering the roasted chicken she had just ordered.

Then, she gathered all the clothes she had taken off in the past two days and put them into the dirty clothes basket in the bathroom.

When she came out, the man who had been standing in the living room was already sitting on her sofa, looking thoughtfully at the roasted chicken she had barely touched.

Qin Yige ran over, protective of her food. She immediately picked up the roasted chicken and warned him with extreme anger: "If you dare to laugh at me again, we'll get divorced…"

No, they were just engaged, not married yet, so divorce wasn't an option.

"I'll go to your house with gongs and drums and break off the engagement, letting everyone in Hong Kong know that you, Shang Sheng, are the man Qin Yige doesn't want!"

She was angry because a long time ago, Shang Sheng had once teased her, saying she was a little cabbage who loved to eat roasted chicken.

Then, many people followed suit, mocking Qin Yige for always holding roasted chicken, as if she'd turn into one herself.

From then on, Qin Yige never ate roasted chicken in front of others again.

She would order takeout like tonight and eat it alone in secret.

She hadn't expected to be caught by Shang Sheng again tonight.

Shang Sheng loosened his tie and glanced at her: "Go clean up the room!"

He was giving her some face; after all, if the living room was this messy, the bedroom… would probably be even more spectacular?

She widened her eyes: "Go yourself! Why should I listen to you?"

Shang Sheng didn't say anything, got up, and walked towards her bedroom.

"Hey, hey, hey, you're barging into a girl's boudoir like this, aren't you ashamed?" she said, hugging the roasted chicken and blocking the bedroom door.

"If I recall correctly, it was you who actively invited me in just three seconds ago."

Qin Yige remembered what she had casually said earlier and was left speechless by his rebuttal.

She took a deep breath and freed one hand: "Wait a moment!"

Shang Sheng looked at her with confusion.

The girl raised her chin slightly and snorted, "I'll have my dad come and deal with you!"

Qin Yige was confident that no parent would want their daughter to cohabit with a man before marriage, even if they were already engaged.

"Suit yourself!"

Qin Yige first placed the roasted chicken on the table, then took out her phone and dialed Qin Shirao's number.

The call was answered quickly: "My dear daughter, calling so late, is something wrong?"

"Dad! Shang Sheng wants to live with me, hurry up and drive him away!"

Qin Yige said fiercely.

Qin Shirao's reaction didn't disappoint her: "What? Live together? How dare he take advantage of my daughter?!"

"That's right, Dad!" Qin Yige said triumphantly, glancing at the man who was calmly rolling up his sleeves.

Meeting her triumphant gaze, Shang Sheng showed no reaction.

"Darling, wait for your dad—" Qin Shirao's voice suddenly cut off.

Qin Yige heard Qin's mother's voice coming from the other end: "Honey, Madam Shang is on the phone."

"Yige, wait a moment, Dad needs to take a call."

"Okay."

The call was temporarily suspended, and Qin Yige smugly told Shang Sheng: "Wait for my dad to bring bodyguards and throw you out of here!"

"Mm, I'll wait!"

After saying that, Shang Sheng leaned lazily against the table, staring her down.

A few minutes later, Qin Shirao called back.

"Dad!"

Qin Shirao cleared his throat and said, "Yige—"

"Dad, what did you say?" Qin Yige's smile froze on her lips, suspecting she had misheard.
