Chapter 425: Chapter 295 "One Yang Finger" Breakthrough! The 5th Door, 6th Realm Absolute Skill! [Seeking Monthly Pass!]
"Ma Hongniang’s cultivation of the ’White Bone Contemplation’ is divided into four layers according to Buddhist Zen methods, namely ’Impurity View,’ ’White Bone Contemplation,’ ’Bone Regeneration,’ and ’White Bone Radiance!’"
"Among them, the first layer ’Impurity View’ is an important method in Buddhist Zen meditation practice. It is one of the ’Five Stopping Heart Views,’ which includes ’Impurity View,’ ’Compassionate View,’ ’Karma View,’ ’Buddha-contemplation,’ and ’Counting Breath Observation.’ Additionally, observing the body as impure is also one of the ’Four Mindfulness Observations.’ What are the ’Four Mindfulness Observations’? They are four places for settling the mind, also known as Four Mindfulness Observations. It is not purely about meditation, but rather using wisdom to observe the four mindfulness places to break four kinds of delusions, hence called ’Four Mindfulness Observations.’"
"Analyzing the ’Impurity View’ from the ’Five Stopping Heart Views’ and ’Four Mindfulness Observations,’ one can know that this layer focuses on concentration and wisdom, which is the foundation of the ’White Bone Contemplation.’"
"Once Ma Hongniang mastered this skill, neither my ’Lion Roar’ nor Brother Luo Qi’s ’Zither Sound’ could disturb her."
"In terms of concentration, Ma Hongniang might not be inferior to a Daoist true man or a Buddhist holy monk."
...
Yan Chuan engaged with Ma Hongniang, explaining Ma Hongniang, analyzing the "White Bone Contemplation."
Many became bewildered by the explanation.
Why was Buddhist philosophy discussed during a martial arts match?
Too profound!
Too obscure!
Even with "Mutual Teaching and Learning," most people couldn’t understand at all.
But there were martial artists who understood Buddhist principles, including Ma Hongniang herself. They wouldn’t—they reflected their various thoughts and insights about the "White Bone Contemplation" and the ’Impurity View’ back to Yan Chuan, giving Yan Chuan more understanding of the "White Bone Contemplation"—
"In the cultivation of Buddhism, it says ’Unity of Form and Emptiness,’ which means neither emptiness nor existence, both emptiness and existence. Specifically in martial arts, it starts with cultivating qi and veins, from having to emptiness, finally reaching a realm of both emptiness and existence."
"There is no difference between existence and emptiness."
"In terms of cultivating qi and veins, qi is the wind element, veins are the water element, a fusion of earth and fire elements. If qi and veins are not opened, color skills cannot be empty, the true wisdom cannot manifest, so it is said ’form is not separate from emptiness, emptiness is not separate from form, form is emptiness, emptiness is form, feelings, perceptions, impulses, and consciousness are also like this.’"
Yan Chuan mobilized the "Wave Riding Micro Steps" and maximized evasion, using the "One Yang Finger" to surround Ma Hongniang.
They truly have a connection—
One is the eighty-first "Hidden Dragon!"
One is the eighty-first "Chufeng!"
Each surpassed their own rankings in strength.
But Ma Hongniang, relying solely on the "White Bone Contemplation," was always a bit behind Yan Chuan, especially as Yan Chuan’s "One Yang Finger" reached its culmination, becoming the fifth Sixth Realm Geng Martial he mastered after "Wave Riding Micro Steps," "Wudang Ladder Cloud Jump," "Shadowy Charm," and "Lion Roar," Ma Hongniang was no longer a match.
...
[Your ’One Yang Finger’ has been improved, Fifth Realm of Mastery → Sixth Realm Refining!]
...
Yan Chuan’s "One Yang Finger" had been nearing the Sixth Realm during the ’cliff climbing competition’ and when advising Peng Fannian, Yan Chuan even originally thought the "One Yang Finger" would advance to the Sixth Realm earlier, yet, during another clash with Luo Qi, he roared with satisfaction, and "Lion Roar" surprisingly stepped into the Sixth Realm before the "One Yang Finger."
But now, with the "One Yang Finger" reaching its culmination, it’s not late at all.
"Yan Chuan’s ’One Yang Finger’ breakthrough!"
"Even stronger now!"
"Wave Riding Micro Steps!"
"Shadowy Charm!"
"Lion Roar!"
"One Yang Finger!"
"Yan Chuan’s martial arts breakthroughs are as simple as drinking water or having tea!"
"Too easy!"
The Heavenly Masters noticed Yan Chuan’s breakthrough, everyone was amazed. Even for them, it was the first time seeing such a genius advancing in martial arts so swiftly; only then did the masters understand what Jiang Bianliu had said about Yan Chuan’s unimaginable genius. Thinking of Yan Chuan’s previously displayed "Shadowy Charm," "Twelve Skills of Acupuncture," and now the consecutive displays of "Lion Roar" and "One Yang Finger," they were in awe, no longer mentioning gossip about Tian Jing and Yan Chuan’s private sharing.
...
"Form, feelings, perceptions, impulses, and consciousness are the ’Five Aggregates,’ among them, ’form’ corresponds to matter, feelings, perceptions, impulses, and consciousness correspond to energy. The ’Five Aggregates’ construct the world, which means energy and matter are indivisible, this is precisely what Buddhism says as ’mind-matter monism,’ the non-dual method."
"The ’Heart Sutra’ says: ’observe the five aggregates, all are empty, transcending all suffering and distress,’ the emptiness of the five aggregates requires attaining emptiness in both the mental method and color skill to dare transcend all suffering, resolve life and death. Suffering, gathering, extinction, path are the Four Noble Truths in Buddhism. In the Four Truths, without eliminating the Truth of Suffering, eliminating the Truth of Suffering is proving the Dao, which is the path truth. The five aggregates are the accumulation truth. To eliminate all suffering, one must first eliminate all accumulation; only by attaining the Dao can one eliminate all accumulation."
In the Hai Character Arena, Yan Chuan was still explaining the "White Bone Contemplation."
This time, even with the 75% understanding efficiency enhancement of "Mutual Teaching and Learning," the majority of the audience listening to the lecture were utterly confused, in a cloud of perplexity and completely unable to comprehend.
Not listening, not listening, a turtle reading sutras.
Listening deeply, they became agitated, not feeling much better than during Yan Chuan’s "Lion Roar" duel with Luo Qi’s ’Ancient Sound of the Primordial World.’
The audience couldn’t stand it.
But Ma Hongniang benefited greatly—
"Cultivate qi and veins."
"Cultivate stillness and observation, observe the heart."
"Recite Buddha, Dharma, and Sangha."
"The eighty-four thousand methods are just differentiated wisdoms of prajna, all are differentiated intelligence and methods emanating from fundamental prajna."
"So, this is it!"
"As one observes oneself becoming a white skeleton person, making it extremely pure, allowing the head to fall, entering into the pelvic bone. Concentrate the mind in one place, making it extremely clear. Once this thought is accomplished, observe all sides of the body, everywhere around, all have skeletons....until seeing countless boundless white skeleton persons, chaotic and scattered, some large, some small, some broken, some complete....deliberately observe this, then reflect, with this transverse and mixed bones, where is there ’I,’ and others as well. At that time, the practitioner ponders no-self, the mind and body become serene, secure, and joyful."
