"Why? We have to wait until tomorrow?"
Scarlett was the first to express her dissatisfaction.
She debuted earlier than Taylor, and she considered her looks no less than Taylor's. Yet, that damn security guard had coldly told her that reservations were required to enjoy the delicacies of the master chef.
But he told Taylor that someone had canceled their reservation and she could come tomorrow. Wasn't this blatant double-standard?
Scarlett grew increasingly angry as she thought about it. She opened the car door, ready to get out and argue with the guard.
"Scarlett, don't be like that." Taylor quickly pulled her back and said crisply, "If we're rude, we might not be able to taste Chef Nusret's delicious dishes tomorrow!"
"Hmph!"
Scarlett snorted and sulked with her arms crossed.
Tang Long opened his mouth, then swallowed his words.
This action caught Scarlett's attention. She immediately stared at Tang Long and said, "Tang... we've all tried. It's your turn."
"Me?"
Tang Long pointed to his nose. What did this have to do with him?
"Yes, you should try too."
Gal Gadot and Scarlett reached a consensus. They had to have Tang Long make a move, otherwise, wouldn't that be unfair?
The three girls had all gone, and it was inappropriate for Tang Long, a grown man, to stay in the car the whole time.
"Alright."
Tang Long reluctantly got out of the car.
"Hello, my friends and I have long heard of Mr. Nusret's reputation. We came specifically to try today. Could you possibly add one more seat?"
"Aren't you people annoying? I already told you no! Uh... perhaps, please wait a moment."
The security guard at the entrance suddenly became agitated.
Tang Long was bewildered.
What was going on?
After a short while, the security guard hung up the phone and looked at Tang Long enthusiastically. "Sir, Mr. Nusret is very happy to hear of your visit to the estate. He's running this way."
"Oh, there's no need to rush. Take your time."
Tang Long was completely confused. Why were these people so excited?
Just as he was about to speak and ease the awkwardness, the guard stammered, "Tang, I'm a fan of yours. I noticed you the moment you got out of the car. Um... could I have your autograph?"
"Of course!"
Tang Long smiled. Now he somewhat understood. This guy was probably a loyal fan of his.
To be honest, although the Cavaliers had won 22 consecutive games at this stage, accumulating fans wasn't something that happened overnight. It required results, and more importantly, exceptional personal talent.
As soon as Tang Long signed his name, he saw a man in his forties with a full beard running quickly towards the entrance of the estate.
He ran so fast that he was a little out of breath when he arrived.
"Tang... welcome! I'm Nusret. You've come at the perfect time. I just received a bluefin tuna from Bermuda, and it's incredibly delicious!"
"Mr. Nusret, I have a few friends waiting in the car. You don't mind if they join us, do you?"
Tang Long was a little surprised. He hadn't expected to have fan friends in New York.
"Oh, it's my honor that you would bring your friends to my estate. You are most welcome!"
Scarlett, Gal Gadot, and Taylor, who had gotten out of the car, were dumbfounded.
What was going on?
The three of them couldn't even get past the security guard, but after Tang Long spoke, Nusret himself ran out to greet him.
This was Nusret, after all, the most famous private chef in New York. Even some Hollywood producers had to book in advance for a table.
"Welcome, three beautiful ladies."
Nusret performed a standard English gentleman's bow.
Even though America was now the world's number one country, in terms of culture, American high society still regarded the accent and etiquette of the British as a benchmark!
Seeing this, Scarlett and the others were even more flattered.
They understood that all of this was because of Tang Long.
For a moment, the three of them stuck closer to Tang Long. Even the demure Taylor's beautiful eyes lingered on Tang Long.
Nusret only hosted two tables of guests per day. In his own words, dining was the happiest moment of the day, especially when savoring delicious food.
Therefore, he only entertained one table of guests at lunch and dinner.
The dining room was a standard English style, a one-to-one recreation of a medieval royal British dining room. Nusret was preparing the dishes in the open kitchen not far away.
Tang Long didn't know much about food. Whether they were Americans or Chinese, or people from other countries, everyone's understanding of beauty was similar.
This was evident in Nusret's food preparation.
Watching him meticulously prepare the exquisite dishes was a delight to the eyes. Every movement was just right.
Tang Long sighed, "I see why you wanted to come here. It's truly not a wasted trip."
"Of course. This is one of the most famous private chefs in New York, no, in all of America."
"Hmph, it's still because of Tang's influence that we got in. If it were just you, we might be eating hamburgers right now."
"Gale, you're blaming me? Aren't you the same?"
Watching the two start bickering again, Taylor seized the opportunity to look at Tang Long and ask softly, "Tang, will you still be in New York tomorrow?"
"Probably. I didn't come all this way for nothing."
Upon hearing this, her eyes lit up. "Where do you want to go? Shopping, the Statue of Liberty, or Manhattan?"
Tang Long shook his head. "None of those. I want to go to Central Park to see the animals. I heard the raccoons there are very cute."
"Really, Tang? You like small animals too?" Taylor was overjoyed, as if she had found a kindred spirit.
Tang Long nodded slightly, while Scarlett pouted beside him.
Damn it, you're showing off again.
What kind of star comes to New York and doesn't go to nightclubs or shopping, but wants to see small animals?
But honestly, this made Scarlett admire Tang Long even more.
As expected, Chinese men must be superior to those guys.
"That's great! I happen to be free tomorrow, so we can go together."
"Okay, I'll let you try our Chinese dumplings then."
An opportunity like this, if not taken advantage of, would be a waste.
"Dumplings?"
Taylor looked confused, and Gal Gadot was also bewildered. Only Scarlett, who had eaten dumplings at Tang Long's place before,
Scarlett puffed up with pride. Looking at Taylor and Gal Gadot, she drew out her words, "No way, you don't know what dumplings are?"
The two women looked at Scarlett's smug expression and shook their heads.
"Let me tell you, dumplings are one of the most delicious foods in China. They're equivalent to our Thanksgiving turkey, an indispensable food! It's a pity you haven't tried them, you're so out of touch."
Gal Gadot found what she was hearing increasingly strange, and then she simply rolled her eyes. "Scarlett, only old people reminisce about the past. You're old!"
