Lu Ming felt as if he were completely exposed before Ming Zhitian. He knew exactly who Ming Zhitian was looking for, something he’d understood from their first meeting. However, until he fully grasped whether Ming Zhitian’s intentions were pure or complex, he wouldn't reveal Irina’s whereabouts.
He then chuckled, "Actually, I was just creating an opportunity for you to have some alone time with a beautiful woman."
Ming Zhitian waved his hand, "I'll take your word for it for now. Speak, where is Irina?"
Lu Ming felt a bead of sweat trickle down his temple. He hadn't expected Ming Zhitian to be so direct. "Uh… this…"
Ming Zhitian said, "You're worried I might harm her, aren't you?"
Lu Ming’s expression immediately turned serious. Lu Wenjie, wearing a dress, walked out from within. "Brother, what are you two talking about?"
Lu Ming replied, "Sister, you should go back to your room. I need to have a word with Brother Qiong Chi."
"Oh." Lu Wenjie looked puzzled. However, since it seemed to be a matter between men, she didn't press further.
Lu Ming answered, "Yes, I will not let any unknown external force pose a danger to her. I cannot."
Ming Zhitian nodded, "Let me guess… is she someone of high status? Is she the ruler of Modu? Or perhaps… someone revered by all, the commander of the Divine Eagle Squad and the Sixth Squad?"
Lu Ming’s breath hitched. He felt a pang of shame; Ming Zhitian had hit the nail on the head.
"It seems I guessed correctly. Don't be nervous, I mean no harm," Ming Zhitian said, waving his hand.
Lu Ming was already on high alert, ready to fight at any moment.
Ming Zhitian stated, "I am not from this world. I am here on behalf of someone, to check on Irina’s current situation and offer assistance. That is all."
Clearly, Lu Ming did not believe such a story.
Ming Zhitian continued, "From what I understand, in the Modu Metropolis, the strongest of the so-called Xianwu practitioners is no more than the Asura Realm. So… after I take you for a test, you will understand."
Suddenly, Ming Zhitian tore through the void with his bare hands, pulling Lu Ming into it. "Shun…"
"Shun…"
Teleportation…
In three minutes, they traversed nearly a hundred planes and dimensions, before returning to a room in the Modu Metropolis villa.
Lu Ming couldn't help but vomit out the contents of his stomach! He felt utterly nauseous and uncomfortable.
Ming Zhitian subtly moved his fingertips, and a strand of immortal spiritual energy enveloped Lu Ming, soothing his physical discomfort.
"Hoo…" Lu Ming let out a long sigh of relief.
Ming Zhitian said, "I traverse countless different worlds with the power of the Great Dao. If I wanted to kill you, a single glance would suffice. If I wanted to destroy this Modu Metropolis, it would take but a flick of my finger."
"…" Lu Ming felt another wave of nausea.
Ming Zhitian continued, "You can still choose not to believe me, but I always do as I say."
Lu Ming sighed, "It seems I have no choice."
Ming Zhitian replied, "This outcome was decided from the very beginning. But I can tell you clearly, I am not the villain."
Lu Ming said, "It's too late now. I will take you to Queen Irina tomorrow morning."
Ming Zhitian nodded, "Alright. I will take my leave then."
Lu Ming nodded, "I'll see you out."
"No need." Ming Zhitian tore open a spatial rift and walked directly into it, disappearing from sight.
Lu Wenjie hadn't heard any sounds. She walked out of her room, "Is he gone? Brother, I didn't hear any doors opening or closing?"
Lu Ming was still shaken, as everything Ming Zhitian had said was true. His power far exceeded his imagination; he was not just a simple Xianwu practitioner.
Lu Ming knew she had been eavesdropping and ignored the question. "Wenjie, there are many things… science cannot explain. He has long stood at a height that neither you nor I can ever reach."
Lu Wenjie murmured to herself, "Then… what kind of person is he?"
