Leaving the tomb, Ming Zhitian exhaled a breath of turbid air. However, he then let out a burp, and not understanding why, paid it no mind for the time being.
Having spent too long in the tomb, he had been afflicted with a peculiar corpse poison. Though Ming Zhitian was immune to a hundred poisons, he wasn't sure about beyond that.
On his way back to the Yin family, an old man treading on golden auspicious clouds brushed past Ming Zhitian.
Seeing Ming Zhitian's hurried demeanor, the old man couldn't help but frown, "Young friend, please wait!"
Ming Zhitian stopped his rapid pace and turned back, "Is something the matter?"
The old man was clad in a twelve-palace, eight-trigram Daoist robe, exuding an immortal aura and sharp intelligence. He possessed a kind and benevolent countenance.
The old man stroked his long white beard, "Young friend, you are in such a hurry. Where are you heading?"
Ming Zhitian smiled faintly and said, "Home."
The old man stroked his white beard again, "Home? Is there an emergency at home?"
Ming Zhitian shook his head, "No."
The old man looked puzzled, "Then what are you rushing for?"
Ming Zhitian chuckled, "I'm always like this. I cherish time; every inch of it is precious. That's what my teacher taught me."
The old man said, "Sometimes, it's not a bad thing to stop and relax."
Ming Zhitian cupped his hands in a gesture of respect, "Esteemed elder, I have learned from you."
The old man nodded, "Hmm… I observe a dark hue on your forehead. You must be troubled by misfortune."
Ming Zhitian smiled slightly, thinking, "So, he's a fortune-teller."
He didn't place much stock in metaphysical concepts like fate, believing in them only halfway at best. "Thank you, esteemed elder, but it's not necessary. I need to go home."
"Hmm? Corpse poison?" The old man discerned something from Ming Zhitian.
"Wait!"
The old man said, "Press the Sanxing acupoints on your lower abdomen. Do you feel a dull ache?"
Ming Zhitian shook his head, then followed the instruction and was greatly astonished! "Yes."
The old man stroked his white beard and smiled faintly, "Of course. Because you followed my instruction, the poisonous qi has flowed back and attacked your heart."
Ming Zhitian was aghast, "Esteemed elder, you! Junior and you have no enmity... are you trying to harm me?"
The old man shook his head, "Not at all, not at all. I was merely verifying, so you would believe me."
Ming Zhitian felt speechless, "And then?"
The old man chuckled, "I have a method to detoxify it."
Ming Zhitian still didn't believe him. He took out a top-grade Hundred-Pill Detoxification Elixir and swallowed it. He then pressed the Sanxing acupoints on his abdomen. It hurt!
Cold sweat broke out on his forehead. Already suffering from poisonous qi attacking his heart, he was now doubly poisoned!
Seeing his lips turn black, the old man shook his head helplessly, "I told you the poisonous qi was attacking your heart, and you didn't believe me. Not listening to elders leads to suffering right before your eyes. Tsk, tsk, tsk."
Although Ming Zhitian was doubtful, his life was in danger. He compromised and clasped his hands in supplication, "Please, esteemed elder, save me!"
The old man nodded, "I see that despite your youth, your fate is not yet sealed. I shall grant you this good fortune. Meeting me, your luck, spirit, and destiny are still quite good. You will not perish here."
He then took out a dazzling, colorful, flowing object.
Ming Zhitian couldn't help but ask, "What is this...?"
The old man said, "A top-grade Thousand-Pill Elixir."
"Disperse!"
The Thousand-Pill Elixir in the old man's hand dispersed, turning into dust and floating towards Ming Zhitian's body.
Before Ming Zhitian could react, he was enveloped by the elixir mist. It transformed into ripples of qi, taking form, flower-like shapes, becoming formless and drifting away with the wind.
Turbid black qi was forced out from Ming Zhitian's body, from the inside out, and then vanished without a trace.
"It's gone?" Ming Zhitian felt incredulous. It was so miraculous. The corpse poison that even he had no clue about was now resolved?
