A cultured, foreign voice came from within: "You may go down first."
The old butler bowed respectfully, "Yes."
"Please come in."
Ming Zhi Tian opened the door and entered. The door was unlocked.
He saw that the room was large and spacious, about the size of two dining halls. The walls were covered with handicrafts and famous paintings. There was a large three-person bed, and a bathroom, shower room, and dressing table were all readily available.
A girl in a light pink outfit rushed towards him, embracing Ming Zhi Tian, "Ming Zhi Tian, you're here!"
Ming Zhi Tian did not evade, as she posed no threat.
However, there was still a distinction between men and women. Looking at Linna, who seemed like a completely different person, Ming Zhi Tian gently pulled her away, "Linna? Are you still the person I know?"
Linna adjusted her "revealing" clothes and coughed lightly, "Of course, I just missed you. Please forgive my earlier indecent behavior."
Ming Zhi Tian knew that the culture here was very open, especially for women, so he didn't pay much attention. "It's alright. By the way, did you need something from me?"
Linna brushed a strand of hair from her chest to her back, looking very sexy and charming, "Come, sit. What would you like to drink? Coffee, orange juice, or tea?"
Ming Zhi Tian said, "Coke."
Linna gave an embarrassed smile and started to get it. Midway, she peeked her head from the doorway, "Iced or...?"
"Iced, thank you," Ming Zhi Tian smiled.
In a short while, Linna personally brought over a tray with a glass of iced Coke, topped with a small mint leaf.
Linna took a sip of coffee, Ming Zhi Tian took a sip of Coke, and gazed at Linna, waiting for her to continue.
Linna was initially shy, but knowing he didn't mean it that way, she smiled coyly, "Ming Zhi Tian, you Chinese people are really impatient."
"What?" Ming Zhi Tian looked bewildered.
Linna giggled, "Alright, just kidding. I know you're looking for something."
Ming Zhi Tian put down his Coke, his interest piqued, "You know I'm looking for the Glory of Light?"
Linna nodded and said, "I don't only know you're looking for it, I also know you need two other divine artifacts."
"So?" Ming Zhi Tian remained calm, wanting to see what she meant.
Linna was direct, "I can help you obtain the Glory of Light, because it is currently in my father's bedchamber."
Ming Zhi Tian looked into her eyes, trying to discern something.
Linna also looked at him. Their eyes met, and Ming Zhi Tian spoke, "Why are you helping me? You must know that the Glory of Light is the lifeline of the Swan Kingdom. If you touch it, it is equivalent to affecting the future prosperity of the Swan Kingdom."
Linna shook her head, disagreeing, "You're mistaken. I never believe in myths and legends. I only believe in my people and geniuses. Just like the Chinese idiom, 'Man will conquer nature.' Therefore, with the efforts of myself and my people, the Glory of Light is merely a decoration, and its existence or absence is irrelevant."
"You ask why I'm helping you?"
Linna brought a stool and sat beside him, moving closer, "From the day you saved my life, my heart, even my whole self, belongs to you."
Ming Zhi Tian scratched his head, "How dare I..."
Linna put her finger to his lips, "Shh... Listen to me. Do you know that the people pursuing me stretch from the head of the Swan Kingdom's geese all the way to the croissant shop on the Champs-Élysées in France!"
"Uh..."
Ming Zhi Tian tried to speak again, but Linna silenced him once more, "Shh... And do you know how I, Goddess Linna, became famous?"
