Chapter 1 Xi Mountain

The four cardinal directions and up and down are called the universe, and the past and present are called the cosmos. Mountains topple and seas overturn to become primordial, and the wild without order is chaos. The heavens are mysterious, the earth is yellow, at the dawn of ten thousand millennia!

In the southwest of the Primordial World, there is a winding mountain named Xi Mountain, far from the center of the earth.

To the north, across mountains and rivers, lies the Northern Underworld Ice Sea. To the south stretches the southeastern region of countless great mountains and dense forests. To the west lies the edge of the Qilin tribe's territory. To the east, ninety thousand miles away, one can see the coast of the East Sea.

Buzhou Divine Mountain stands in the center of the Primordial World, dividing the south from the north and the East Sea from the West Land. Xi Mountain is located to the southwest of the Buzhou Mountain range, near the East Sea.

Its peaks reach a hundred thousand feet, making it the tallest and most perilous mountain range within a radius of millions of miles. The main peak of Xi Mountain is named Tai Chong. Four side peaks, to the east, west, north, and south, encircle the main peak. The bodies of these four side peaks tilt slightly towards the main peak. From afar, they resemble four colossal pythons swallowing the sky with their heads turned towards Tai Chong Peak. Clouds and mist swirl around, and under the divine radiance, they appear even more mysterious and magnificent. (The cover of this book depicts the scenery of Xi Mountain.)

Within Tai Chong Peak, a mountain spring cascades down from a cliffside peak, forming a small waterfall. Beneath the waterfall is a pool of water about several dozen feet wide.

In the pool, a figure leans against the edge of the water, covered with grass and flowers, with arms spread behind and resting on the green grass and delicate blossoms.

Their skin is smooth and delicate like snow. Their unclothed back is exquisitely beautiful, with long, slightly damp black hair casually draped, the blackness of the hair creating a stark, eye-catching contrast with the whiteness of their skin.

At this moment, as the figure drifts in and out of sleep, they lift a foot, revealing a terrifying sight! A long, green serpent tail floats and sways above the water.

Qing Ling, half-asleep, turns over. Water droplets slowly trickle down the lines of their skin, but they pass over a prominent Adam's apple!

After a long while, as the sun rises in the east, streaks of sunlight slant down from the cliff top. The sunlight, like golden threads, pierces the mist in the valley, scattering into seven-colored faint light through the water droplets.

Qing Ling, in the pool, is disturbed by the seven-colored rainbow light and slowly awakens.

He slowly gets up and his slender legs step out of the pool. He has been soaking in the water for a long time; winter has arrived. It's time to go out and see the sun.

Qing Ling lowers his head to look at the reflection in the clear pool.

In a world of green grass and exotic flowers shrouded in seven-colored rainbow clouds, neon lights flash above the pool. Amidst the brilliant rainbow hues stands a peerless beauty!

Her lips are naturally rosy, her brows naturally strong. A glance is as pleasant as ten miles of spring breeze, a fleeting glimpse as magnificent as mountains and rivers. Softness and heroism coexist, possessing a beauty that could overturn cities and nations. Her exquisite appearance would make even a banished immortal from heaven sigh. This flawless, heaven-favored face makes one indistinguishable between male and female!

This beauty that transcends gender! So beautiful that it makes one forget the difference between the sexes!

The youth narrows his heterochromatic eyes, moisture in them. The pupil of his left eye glows with a vitreous light, while the pupil of his right eye is a desolate, profound black.

A faint mist of light emanates from Qing Ling. A flowing, wide-sleeved red robe adorns his body. With a sudden turn of his head, a thousand flowers and myriad grasses instantly release their fragrance.

A hundred flowers compete in beauty, ten thousand grasses bow down, all for one countenance.

Even after looking at his own face for thousands of years, Qing Ling still feels a sense of astonishment when he sees himself. But he understands that in this world, no matter how beautiful one's appearance, it is merely a skin. Nothing is more important than living an obscure life.

Even though he is a congenital deity, born noble, able to see five colors, with a body that does not shed its skin, born with a congenital spiritual treasure, in this vast Primordial World and boundless era, he is but an ant.

Qing Ling walks out of the valley step by step. This valley is his place of solitary cultivation. Even heavenly-ranked clansmen of Xi Mountain would find it difficult to possess such a cave dwelling.

He walks all the way up along the sloping mountain path. The higher he goes, the colder it becomes, and the fewer flowers and grasses there should be.

But wherever the youth walks, flowers bloom, grass grows luxuriantly, trees sprout new buds, and the fragrance of flowers permeates the air, as if spring has returned to the earth.

The view overhead gradually widens. Above, the sky is deep and unfathomable. Clouds form and dissipate, a sky of clear breezes and white clouds.

The summit of Tai Chong Peak, over a hundred thousand feet high, seems to reach into the celestial realm. The main peak is surrounded by a sea of white clouds. At this moment, the sun rises, its golden light dazzling. A sea of clouds, half gold and half white, engulfs the surroundings.

The youth reaches the summit. The light in his eyes flickers. Standing here, he gazes upon the world.

Looking east, a vast ocean, with countless aquatic creatures. Dragons lurk in the abyss, dragons soar through the four seas, possessing supreme might!

Looking west, mountains and rivers stretch boundlessly for millions of miles. Ten thousand creatures contend freely under the celestial frost. The four-footed Qilin tread the vastness, and myriad beasts pay homage beneath Qilin Cliff.

Looking south, the Undying Volcano stands eternally in the southern sky. Phoenixes alight on the Wutong tree, and countless birds pay homage. Noble and majestic divine fire dyes the sky crimson.

This is an era of ancient races vying for dominance and supremacy. This is a chaotic epoch where heaven and earth are not yet established, order is absent, and the way of heaven is not yet manifest!

Facing the magnificent landscape stretching for miles, with opportunities for myriad paths across the land, standing atop the highest peak, it is difficult for anyone not to feel a surge of pride and the ambition to conquer the world.

The youth once imagined, if reborn into this grand era, what would he do?

Become a Buddha or an Ancestor? A peerless Demon King? Attain transcendence and sainthood? The Patriarch of an Immortal Sect? Conquer the world? The Emperor of Ten Thousand Demons? He imagined it all, but all fantasies ultimately turn to dust.

The youth's heart is as calm as still water. Born as a divine spirit of heaven and earth, he is the assistant spirit of spring, Qing! His divine name is Zun Ling, hence he is called: Qing Ling.

Even though he was born a god, even though he is a soul that has transmigrated, he has no grand ambitions. He merely wishes to hide away amidst these mountains and clouds, to live, to live until the end of time when immortals, demons, Buddhas, and devils have all passed, to live until only he remains through countless epochs of the myriad heavens and worlds.

Though his body is that of a snake, he possesses the soul of a human.

The assistant spirit of spring, Qing Ling, is long gone. His body and divinity have been inherited by a modern soul from Earth in the universe.

He does not know why the original being is absent, nor why he has transmigrated to the Primordial World that only exists in online novels.

From his memories, he has always been in a chaotic world without heaven or earth, without time, not even primordial chaos, but rather within the nurturing spiritual essence world where the assistant spirit of spring was born.

He stayed for so long, so long that he lost his past life memories and merged with Qing Ling's primal spirit.

As for his past, he has forgotten it, only remembering some cultural memories from his previous life.

Qing Ling, from his initial fear and confusion, gradually became accustomed to it, becoming unburdened. His human heart truly became a snake's heart, becoming a beast!

Heaven and earth divide into yin and yang, and all beasts divide into male and female. The spirit assisting spring is yin, and the spirit governing spring is yang. He should have been born yin, yin being female. But Qing Ling's consciousness is masculine. Spirits themselves have no male or female; it is determined by heaven and earth and one's own heart. Therefore, he is ultimately male!

Tracing back to the epoch before heaven and earth opened and primordial chaos was unformed, he was a strand within the three thousand long hairs on the back of Pangu the Great God's head.

Merely by chance, he became stained with a trace of spiritual essence from the thirty-six-petal Creation Green Lotus. After Pangu the Great God died and transformed into all things, Qing Ling, due to that spiritual essence, was able to survive and transform into a snake's body.

According to his divinity, he should be at the Golden Immortal realm, comprehending the laws of the Great Dao, able to summon spiritual energy from heaven and earth, able to call upon the power of the Great Dao. Golden Immortals are immortal, time is static, they share the same lifespan as heaven and earth, and exist alongside the sun and moon.
