Chapter 325: Level-Up

Shaking his head, Abium took out all the ingredients of the 'Dawn Shackle Potion' from his spatial ring and placed them on a neat table.

After that, he lit one of the Fire Burners, took out a glass flash, and put it on the Fire burner. He then poured 100 ml of Endless Seawater into the flask and added one Red Leaf. He adjusted the temperature to 46.7°C and let the Red Leaf boil in the 100 ml Endless Seawater for 4 minutes 32 seconds. After that, he added two drops of Elite Mermaid's blood and 3.5 grams of Moon sugar into the flask.

After two seconds of waiting, he added one gram of powdered skull bone of a 1000-year-old elf into the glass flash and then turned off the Fire Burner.

But suddenly, he saw that the potion color started turning green and then purple. It began to boil violently a moment later, and soon the whole flask exploded in a bang.

Abium became stunned for a moment and soon started to frown.

Even though he had good knowledge of Potioneering, he needed practical experience.

'Why did it explode?' Puzzlement crossed his face as he took another flask and concocted the Dawn shackle potion again. But this time, he added every ingredient carefully and analyzed all steps.

After a few minutes, he again failed to concoct the potion and became confused.

During the third time, he even asked Azolla's help and began to concoct. But once again, he failed.

Frustration appeared on his face. But he didn't give up; instead, he thought of using the 'Quick thinking spell' during the concoction.

After some time, once again, he failed to concoct the potion. But Abium smiled as he found out his earlier mistake and got relieved.

'Heh, even a single millisecond variation could lead to failure, huh? I understood why Potioneering is tough.' Abium nodded his head and once again began to concoct.

After a careful concoction, Abium finally succeeded in concocting the Dawn Shackle potion and curled his lips upward.

He then transferred the potion into a small vial and stored it in his spatial ring.

After that, he stored all those alchemic equipment types in his ring and walked out of the Laboratory room.

'Hmm, storage and treasure room should be in the Underground layer.' Abium nodded inwardly and teleported to the underground layer.

Within a second, he reappeared in the underground layer and noticed that he had already arrived in some large room. At the center, he saw a large two cubic meter black box and got startled.

'Locker?' A surprised expression appeared as he saw many runic circles inscribed all over the box.

'Oh? Did they use a second-tier lock spell to secure this locker? Interesting.' Abium nodded with a smile and walked near to it. After briefly analyzing the lock, he began to crack the runic lock.

He drew multiple rune words in the thin air and sent those words toward the black box. Like butterflies, all the magical rune words flew toward those rune circles and were directly absorbed into them.

Abium lips arched upward as he noticed the changes and continued doing similar things.

After an hour of continuous work, Abium finally stopped drawing runes in the air and muttered loudly.

"Break!"

Silence appeared momentarily, and all those rune circles disappeared as if they had never been there.

With a sigh of relief, Abium walked towards the box and opened the rim lock.

The black square box opened with a screech and revealed two wooden boxes inside.

Abium quickly picked up the wooden box on the right side and opened it.

Within a second, the box opened with a click, revealing 104 white crystalline cards and one silver spatial ring.

Abium's eyes widened as he stared at those cards and drew a deep breath.

'104,000 white gold coins! F*ck, I'm rich.' Abium almost shouted out loud, carefully stored all those cards into his spatial ring, and turned his attention to the spatial ring.

He didn't waste any time and checked while imprinting his spiritual power in it.

'Empty?' Abium got puzzled.

He sighed helplessly and moved his eyes toward the second wooden box.

He didn't delay any longer and opened it quickly with a click.

But this time, Abium wasn't shocked or amazed; instead, he was disappointed. He noticed the second treasure box was filled with only important documents and some transaction papers. After thinking for a moment, he burned all those papers and quietly left the locker room.

He then moved towards the storage room and soon arrived in front of a large underground Hall. The hall was almost as large as a three-storied mansion, which shocked Abium. Inside were large bags of wheat, millet, maize, rice, and other food materials.

After checking all those large bags, Abium was beyond surprised.

'50,000 tons of wheat, 27,000 tons of rice, 7,000 tons of Maize...' Abium became shocked by the number of food materials and didn't know what to do with them.

After pondering for a moment, he narrowed his eyes and decided.

He teleported to the core room and took out Heller's spatial ring.

After imprinting it with his spirit power, he checked it and shook his head disappointedly.

Although he found some materials and five crystalline cards inside, he found nothing precious.

'At least this ring has more space than my own.' Abium nodded as he checked the 30 cubic meters large spatial ring. Following that, he shifted his attention to the foods underground and fell into deep thought.

'First, I must find a way to transport all these materials. Should I use that cargo ship and transport everything to my territory through the devil sea?' A bold idea appeared in his mind. But he instantly dismissed that idea.

'That would reveal my original identity.' Abium creased his eyebrows.

'Although I can summon Undead King with the summoning ritual method and ask him to send it to my territory, I don't think that's a proper way to use that powerful messenger.' He massaged his temple and fell into a dilemma.

After pondering for a moment, he sighed and shook his head.

'I think robbing these food materials is not a good idea.' He thought and soon appeared at the entrance of the magic tower

But now, the whole entrance was filled with riots, which made him frown slightly.

At that moment, he saw many slaves throwing stones at Holy Knights, adventurers, and soldiers and appeared to be protecting all the slave traders.

After a simple scan, he found out more than 10,000 slaves gathered at the entrance, and hundreds of Slave traders were hiding behind those slaves.

Meanwhile, Smith and Nadine didn't know what to do and appeared flustered. Abium even noticed many soldiers and Holy Knights were not following their orders and shook his head disappointedly.

'Well, they are just normal adventurers, after all.'

Abium turned his gaze towards the slave traders who stood behind the slaves in a large group and soon noticed a silk-clothed fat guy was sending orders to all the slaves.

"Slave number 3549 died while defending his master. So I will grant freedom for two days to his son, slave number 2465."

"Slave number 5993 betrayed her master by putting his life in danger. I now grant a death sentence to her two children and her husband in the name of Justice."

"Slave number 406 killed two adventurers to protect his master. He did a great job, so I will grant him one extra meal for the next six months."

….

That silk-clothed fat guy shouted out strange orders, which caused both excitement and fear in the slaves' hearts.

Upon seeing this strange scene, Abium couldn't help but show a ruthless smile.

'Tsk, tsk, tsk.' He easily guessed the current situation and sighed heavily.

Within a few seconds, he arrived near Nadine and Smith and looked at the silk-clothed plump guy calmly.

The chubby guy had brown hair, deep-set black eyes, fair skin, a round face with few wrinkles, and looked around 60 years old.

Abium also noticed that all the strange runes on the slaves' foreheads were starting to shine brightly whenever that fat guy sent out orders and came to a possible guess.

'He is controlling the slaves using the strange runes.' He was surprised inside.

The next instant, his figure disappeared from there and reappeared behind the fat guy.

But he didn't attack that plump guy. Instead, he cast the 'Seer's vision' spell.

A second later, a complicated expression appeared on his face.

'Massacre... I don't have enough power to change their fates...' He furrowed his brows as he took out a strange white gem from his spatial ring and smiled wryly. It was the Soul Tricker artifact he got from the Dark Dungeon. He sent his consciousness into it and soon smiled as he saw Heller's spiritual form hanging upside down in the strange room.

In the meantime, multiple runes were extracting spirit power from his soul and transporting it to a separate section. When he killed Heller, he didn't forget to capture Heller's soul and put him into this Soul Tricker artifact. Shaking his head, he turned his attention towards the fat guy and made up his mind.

'I will take their strength.' His eyes grew resolute.

While he was in deep thought, the fat guy let out a creaky laugh and shouted at those slaves.

"If you protect us using your bodies as shields, I will grant freedom to your children."

"Are you the leader of these slave traders?" A cold voice came out of Abium's mouth as he glared at the fat guy from behind.

A second later, the fat guy's laugh froze and soon turned into a mocking smile. With a mocking smile, he turned around and said haughtily.

"Mr. Mage, I don't know how you managed to kill our lord Heller, but you made a big mistake. So, how do you want to die?"

Abium smiled instead of responding and directly plunged his scarlet sword into the fatty slave trader's chest!

The fat guy became horrified by his action. Meanwhile, Abium withdrew his sword and cut off his head neatly.

Afterward, he turned his head towards those remaining dumbfounded slave traders and ordered coldly.

"You have 1 minute to release all these slaves."

But his threatening words didn't induce fear or panic in those slave traders' eyes.

They all turned their heads towards Abium and picked up small, strange black knives from their waists.

"We are the eyes and ears of the Three Heads! We will once again rule over the continent."

As they shouted a sentence in unison, they all stabbed the knives into their hearts!

A bitter smile appeared on his face as he heard those words.

A second later, everyone saw those hundreds of slave traders fall on the ground with lifeless faces.

But that was just the start. Everyone heard strange bursting sounds before anyone could wake up from the shock.

At that moment, slaves' heads were starting to blow up one by one!

Within five seconds, the whole area filled with scarlet blood and flesh.

Tens of thousands of headless bodies fell on the ground, giving strange chillness to the whole area.

Upon seeing those thousands of headless corpses, Abium's heart ached.

A heartbeat later, a strange hum came from the fat guy's chest, and soon an illusionary snake monster with three heads descended onto the Magic Tower's entrance.

It turned its three heads sharply towards Abium and stared, hissing loudly.

It then swung its long tail towards the nearby wall.

Creak!

A spatial crack appeared as the tail collided against the concrete wall and soon expanded inch by inch.

'That spatial crack... It must be linked to Abyss. It's going to suck those slaves' souls.' Abium's eyes flickered as he noticed the demon's plan and instantly activated the Soul Tricker artifact.

Countless illusionary red chains crept out from the small white gem and soon began to grab those slaves' souls. Although the souls screamed in resistance, he didn't mind anything and absorbed those souls into the Soul Trinket.

'Why did I have to come here and do this cruel thing?' He mumbled with a helpless look.

'It's not your fault. It's the so-called Three-Headed demon's fault, kid. If you don't capture these souls, this demon will take their souls to the Abyss and enslave them forever. Although your action will injure the souls, they won't die permanently. The souls will move to the Eternal River of Life and recover. After a millennium or two, they will have a chance to reincarnate in this Easica world or any other world.' Azolla consoled him in his mind.

A bitter smile appeared on his face as he conjured two fireballs and threw them toward the illusionary three-headed snake demon. Although the three-headed snake demon tried to block the two fireballs, it wasn't strong enough. Within a second, the two fireballs broke the illusionary figure and soon burned the fat slaver's body.

Abium didn't even glance at the disappearing demon's incarnation. Instead, he turned his face solemnly and looked at the spatial crack.

It was expanding slowly.

'I need to grow stronger. One day, I will kill this Three-Heads Demon.' He swore to himself as he sensed the danger hidden behind the expanding spatial crack and thought of retreating.

But before that, he had to do something. He turned his gaze towards the dumbfounded soldiers, adventurers, and a few Holy Knights and then said in a heavy tone,

"Get the hell out of here."

Hundreds of soldiers, adventurers, and Holy Knights woke up from the shock and ran in different directions, leaving Abium, Smith, and Nadine at the Magic Tower's entrance.

"You two, go and pack your belongings. This town is not safe anymore." Abium said solemnly.

Both nodded their heads and moved towards the shore area.

After a few minutes, Abium, Smith, and Nadine walked out of the Port town and moved towards Keris Kingdom's direction.

On the way, Abium gave both of them a secret task and asked them to finish it by the end of the year.

After a few discussions, he separated from them and moved in a different direction.

...

The next day,

It was before dawn.

A lone elven figure with a grey robe stood at the top of an isolated mountain while gazing at the east with excitement in his eyes. He had shoulder-length blonde hair, sharpened ears like knives, and deep-set amber eyes, which often could be mistaken as two precious gems.

On his right hand was a golden liquid vial emitting bright light due to the reflection of sudden daylight.

He was none other than Abium.

A pleasant smile appeared on Abium's face as he saw the dawn light. He opened the vial with his fingers and gulped the golden liquid into his mouth.

The next instant, a twisted expression appeared on his face, followed by a painful moaning sound. Abium felt his soul was going through a painful process and overcoming the invisible shackle.

After a minute of a long, painful process, he breathed a sigh of relief and noticed that the pain inside his body and soul was fading away.

[High-Elf bloodline spell awakened: Dream Walker]

Blue words appeared before his eyes, making Abium freeze for a moment.

'Dream walker? What's that?' He got startled a bit. A moment later, hidden information about the 'Dream walker' spell model emerged from his elven blood essence and entered his Sea of Consciousness. He could feel unique rune words with law power continually coming out from his blood essence and storing inside his Sea of Consciousness.

As he skimmed through the information, a complicated expression appeared.

'So, if I want to get this High Elf bloodline spell, I must sacrifice one spell model, huh?' Abium got confused, and soon he heard Azolla's words.

'That's normal. It would take many rituals to awaken this mystical bloodline spell early, kid. It must have something to do with the divine power in your body. Somehow, my core and the divine power must have strengthened your bloodline during implantation. That must be why you awaken this mystical bloodline spell at an earlier stage. Only High-Elves and some strong-willed elves would awaken the mystic bloodline spell-like Dream Walker.'

'But why Dream Walker? Not some other mystic bloodline spells?' Abium felt something was off and asked with a frown on his forehead.

'Even High Elves awaken mystic bloodline spells randomly. But I heard it has something to do with one's own heart. Think carefully; have you ever encountered strange dreams before?' Upon hearing Azolla's words, Abium fell into deep thoughts.

'Strange dreams? I had strange dreams before. The first time was at the underground tunnel below the waterfall in the forgotten land. Then the second time was at the castle of Bare Keep town. Those two dreams felt real, and even I mistook them as future visions.' Abium stopped for a moment and began to explain those dreams to Azolla.

'I don't have any clue about your first Dream, kid. But your second Dream has something to do with Prince Raollet. Or it could have something to do with the real Hemarc. You met the statue of the evil goddess statue, and then it changed into the Mother Nature statue, indicating someone had already interfered with that Dream.

You must have used the Dream Walker ability unconsciously then and met a believer of the evil goddess. However, an expert specializing in dreams must have managed to perceive the danger hidden in that Dream and change it forcefully.

Otherwise, your soul might be already devoured by the evil goddess. Gods are strange beings, kid. They can enter deep in your Sea of consciousness like the Time god Udnir and even alter your memories forcefully.' As he heard Azolla's words, cold sweats appeared on his forehead.

'An expert who specializes in Dreams, huh?' Abium suddenly thought of a foggy naked lady and got chills all over.

'Azolla, can you tell me more about this Dream walker spell?' Abium asked.

'Dream-Walker. It's a spell that could help one enter others' dreams without their approval. To learn more about the Dream Walker spell, you must understand Dreams' secrets.

Dreams and Nightmares are happening due to the presence of a strange world called Woolgather world. It is a world filled with dreams and nightmares of all living beings in the universe, and this world is a Supreme world like the Abyss and Hell and has more than 10,000 layers hidden. Each layer has an equal landmass as low planes like the undead plane. I also heard thousands of Dream lords and Nightmare lords ruling different domains of the Dreamworld and controlling the will of the Dreamworld using strange methods.'

She stopped for a moment as if she was organizing her thoughts and continued solemnly.

'Dream Walker spell helps one enter and leave the dream world independently. Controlling one's dreams and nightmares is always scarier than other mystic bloodline spells. If you understand the secrets of dream law, you will easily enter others' Sea of consciousness and steal their memories. This spell is much more important than other bloodline spells.'

'It's a scary spell indeed!' Abium nodded and soon noticed he could also quickly enter his Sea of Consciousness using this Dream-Walker spell.

He stood there analyzing the 'Dream-Walker' spell model for a few minutes and thought of replacing the spell model soon.

'Azolla, so which spell model should I sacrifice to replace this 'Dream Walker' spell model?' Abium asked.

'Hmm, choose that Aura of Hallucination spell model, kid. Although this spell could inflict some damage on first-tier mages' minds, it will be useless against second-tier mages. Also,' she paused for a moment and continued,

'This 'Dream-Walker' bloodline spell is more important than the normal spell.'

After hearing her words, Abium made up his mind.

'Before that, I need to increase my Spirit Power.' Abium muttered and quickly took the Soul-Tricker artifact from his spatial ring. After absorbing one-tenth of Spirit Powers from Heller and the other ten thousand souls, Soul-Tricker gem began to emit a dim white light already.

Abium instantly knew that the spirit power stored in the Soul-Tricker artifact would be enough for him to construct more than two second-tier spell models and was pleased inside.

As for the injured souls, they were already released from the artifact and entered the Eternal River of Life.

Casting those useless thoughts away, Abium let his consciousness enter into the Soul-Tricker artifact and glanced at the white and red clouds.

He checked the Soul-Tricker artifact's interior and soon found a mechanism to extract those two clouds separately.

Upon discovering this, he hurriedly removed the red clouds from the Soul Tricker and stored the white clouds in a separate section.

After that, he withdrew his consciousness and searched the nearby area.

After ranking up to a second-tier mage, Abium felt his sense had sharpened to a different level and felt assured.

'Hmm, my spiritual scan ability's range also increased five-fold.' Abium felt that he could even suppress an apprentice mage using his spirit power now.

'Heh, this is the difference between official and second-tier mage, huh?' He finally understood the difference in strength and heaved a deep sigh.

After checking he was in a safe place, he sat down on a small rock before closing his amber eyes and began to absorb the Spirit Power continuously.

He devoured the spirit power continuously for the next two hours and soon opened his eyes as he noticed that his spirit power had already risen above 300.

'I should stop absorbing all in one go.'

After reaching 300 points, he stopped absorbing, extracted the information about the 'Dream walker' spell model, and sent it toward the 'Aura of Hallucination' Spell model in his mind. Inside his Sea of Consciousness, a white cloud filled with complicated rune words flew up towards the seven stars and soon entered the dark star. The next instant, Abium felt a bang inside his head.

Simultaneously, the 'Aura of Hallucination' spell model exploded in his Sea of Consciousness and scattered. A heartbeat later, complicated runes filled with Dream Law power emerged from the white cloud, forming another dark spell model.

Abium felt a deep pain in his mind and noticed that the explosion of the 'Aura of Hallucination' spell model had damaged his Sea of Consciousness.

His face turned sour as he noticed the changes and got anxious inside.

'Don't worry, kid. The wound in his Sea of consciousness will heal in a month. Until then, stay out of trouble and refrain from using spell models.' Azolla said solemnly.

'Okay. Hmm, show me my body status.' He said in his mind, and soon, a row of blue letters appeared before his eyes.
