Chapter 301: First Layer

Her words surprised everyone. The next instant, everyone's faces grew deadly pale. How could they forget that word which caused countless nightmares in their childhood days?

There were many legendary folktales about these dungeons, but most were about the mythical monsters lurking inside those dungeons. Moreover, everyone knew that entering the Dungeon was a challenging matter.

Every Dungeon had some restrictions. Take the Volcanic Abyssal Dungeon; for example, if someone wanted to enter that Dungeon, they had to consume the Tear of Phoenix; otherwise, they wouldn't take a step inside that Dungeon even if they were demigods.

As for what restrictions this Dungeon has, even Abium didn't know about it. But from his memories, he made some guess that it must have something to do with strength. Otherwise, the Light Church wouldn't have just sent out a Bishop.

There was also another risk when exploring dungeons. They had to find the core room and get the dungeon guardian's approval if they wanted to leave.

Many people lost their way when exploring and became starved to death in the past.

Abium and his team members also walked in with those members from the Royal Family group and soon disappeared from Easica World.

...

Just like before, he felt a suction sensation and soon felt that he was being transported.

Before he could even blink, he noticed his feet touching the ground.

'We've entered the dungeon.'

As Abium opened his eyes, he found himself standing in front of a dark rotten forest, making him frown. The temperature was chilling, and a strange dim red light appeared everywhere.

'The trees are all black and appear withering. No, they are rotting.'

Slowly, he looked upwards and soon saw three large red stars hanging up in the sky. The next instant, he felt his eyes burning intensely and quickly lowered his head.

'Those stars are emitting radiations, lad. Looking into them might harm your eyesight.' Azolla responded.

Meanwhile, Abium nodded and quickly glanced around.

Even though it was dim red darkness, Abium saw everything around them clearly and quietly scanned the surroundings.

On the other hand, the whole group stood there in puzzlement and started checking the rotten trees that appeared everywhere.

There was neither sunlight nor pure air in the atmosphere, making everyone uneasy.

After a short pause, Abium checked on his teammates and heaved a deep sigh after noticing no one had gone missing.

After that, he checked the rotten black trees in front of them and frowned.

At that moment, he noticed strange black snails and black worms creeping out from those tree stems and appearing to be covered in many places. They looked all similar to earthworms and had strange eye-like patterns on their head region.

What started him was that he felt some were even looking in their direction with their single white eyes.

Suddenly, Abium felt some biting sensation on his right hand and soon noticed a black-ringed worm attached to his right hand and appeared to be trying to enter his body!

Abium's eyes widened as he didn't sense this worm's presence and quickly picked it up cautiously. After that, he placed that worm carefully and looked deeply at it.

A moment later, his face turned stiff as he saw around 100 miniature eyes all over that black worm's upper body!

Those eyes were even blinking from time to time, giving him strange goosebumps.

A creepy feeling appeared in his heart as he stared at those eyes and drew a deep breath.

He knew that the unknown was always a scary thing.

While he was about to finish scanning, the worm wiggled and tried to escape his grasp.

'It has great awareness.'

Abium dropped the small worm and smashed it without hesitation using his right leg.

But the next instant, Abium saw all those worms in the surrounding trees suddenly turn their heads and lock their gazes on Abium!

'What the f*ck?'

'They seem to have shared senses. Be careful of those worms.' Azolla warned him.

"Everyone, be careful of these worms. Don't let this thing touch your body-" Abium tried to warn everyone but soon froze as he saw a Holy knight, who stood five meters away from him, suddenly unsheathed his long silver sword and directly thrust his sword into an adventurer's chest.

Abium instantly got tensed up and watched Light Church members full of wariness.

At the same time, everyone began to draw their swords and started attacking each other.

It was a complete mess!

Only a few people from the Red Python organization and Light Church stood with calm faces and quietly tried to stop this reckless infighting.

Alas, many started fighting without even minding their leaders' shouting and appeared to be controlled by a ghost.

Some even mercilessly killed their comrades, causing a great panic everywhere.

Abium even saw Cedric stealthily unsheathing his dagger and moving it stealthily toward Kate's throat.

'Mind possession spell?'

Without delay, he quickly appeared behind Cedric, grabbed his hand, and knocked him unconscious.

"We are splitting up," Abium spoke while putting Cedric on his shoulder and turning his head towards the Red Python group. After that, he stealthily took Ubius's amulet from his spatial ring and cast the 'Night Mark' spell on Count Henricus.

Then, he led his team members away from the main group and moved toward the depths of the rotten woods.

Meanwhile, Fennelis, Kate, and Umi took out their swords and followed Abium with vigilant eyes.

On the other hand, Abium started searching for a way out of these rotten woods and ordered Azolla to monitor the other three continuously. Although they didn't meet any monsters, they faced endless sneak attacks from those strange worms. If not for Azolla's scan warning, those strange worms might have long possessed them.

After an hour of roaming, Abium and others finally walked out of the woods, full of fear in their eyes. Even Abium lost his cool and continuously glanced at everyone. After confirming everyone was okay, his eyes fell on Cedric, already placed on the ground.

Cedric's face was full of sweat, and a few blisters appeared. But what made Abium frown deeper was that he could feel most of his body organs were working normally.

'That means the problem lies in the soul.'
