At the same time, a big change happened in the Easica world.
When the necromancers broke the last seal, a violent earthquake appeared all over the continent and stuck fear in every living soul. Then, all the foreign gods' followers, including Light Church Pontiff Philip, suddenly lost their connection to their gods' divine kingdoms. Everyone felt something was wrong and became alarmed inside.
Although they still managed to use some divine spells, the followers noticed the power of the divine spells was decreased considerably.
Moreover, dungeon towers started to appear in many places. Monsters like Goblins, Orcs, Kobolds, Wyverns, Gnomes, Minotaurs, and other monsters came out from those dungeons and caused chaos everywhere.
Using the chaos, evil cult organization members and demon worshippers started killing mortals in large numbers and began to conduct many sacrificial rituals everywhere.
But Arcane Empire and the Elven Kingdom did nothing to protect the mortals and watched everything with calm eyes as if everything was under their control!
…
Inside the Fex dimension, Fire temple.
Abium stood there while listening to Azolla's explanation about the earthquake and shifted his gaze toward the red droplet at the foot of the Phoenix statue.
'What's that?' He didn't think much about the necromancers' mission and got entirely captivated by the red-colored droplet that was sealed in another small crystalline glass.
'Wait a minute.' Azolla said and scanned the red droplet.
A row of blue letters appeared in front of Abium's eyes within a few seconds.
[Tear of Phoenix-
This droplet of Tear came from a Fire elemental Demigod and had a little amount of Fire Law and some mystic divine power hidden in it. Directly consuming this Tear will help one to gain some understanding of the Fire law. It is a rare treasure created by a Fire Elemental Demigod.]
As Abium read those words, he couldn't help but smile.
He thought he would find some clue about the undying artifact but didn't expect to get another treasure. He silently walked near the crystalline glass and soon grabbed the crystal box.
'Azolla, what is Demi-Lich's motive? Why was he sealed here?' Abium asked while keeping his eyes on Tear of Phoenix.
'He must be related to the ' Order of the Dead' organization, lad. If I'm not wrong, he must have entered the Royal Treasury during the last undead invasion. That Dark Arts mage Idus also said something like someone infiltrated the treasury but never returned, right? This Demi-Lich must have gotten injured by the Redbird while entering and managed to find this Tear of Phoenix. But due to his undead body, he had no choice but to stay guard here. Hmm, something doesn't seem right. How did he come here in the first place? Did Redbird throw him inside this dimension as it did to us?' Azolla stopped talking and fell into deep thought as if she was analyzing something.
Meanwhile, Abium also started to feel something was amiss. But after some time, he shook his head and shifted his gaze toward the Sky-Elf's body, which was sealed in the crystalline glass.
'Can you guess when did he come to this fire temple?' Abium asked solemnly.
'That's an impossible task, lad. It's because we don't have an artifact that could see through one's past, nor do we have any advanced magic spell to calculate their year of death. But maybe we can try and find out something from that Demi Lich's ring.' Azolla's words made Abium realize he still had the silver spatial ring on his finger.
He hurriedly sent his spiritual power into the ring and marked it with his own.
'Hmm, wait a minute! How strong is Demi Lich?' Abium asked with a frown. He knew Lich was a legendary tier figure and guessed that Demi Lich must be just one step below the legendary tier.
'Hmm, a complicated question. Well, I will tell you based on the mage's power level. Necromancers are slightly different from mages. Unlike mages, when a necromancer becomes a third-tier being, he/she will enter the realm of Immortality. Although we call it Immortality, it's more like a curse to them. If they become third-tier beings, they must abandon most of their senses and turn into cold-hearted beings. Of course, some out there could cheat the Underworld and remain humans, but they are pretty rare. A third-tier being can create 'Phylactery' using one of their body parts and hide it in some secret place. As long as that Phylactery remains hidden, they will revive using another body. These necromancers were called Death Lords.
In that fourth tier, they will be turned into Death Kings. Death Kings will have a power equal to pseudo-legendary mages. Then, the next tier will be Death Emperors. They are as powerful as legendary mages and have some control over the death domain.' Azolla's words caused Abium to grasp the power level of necromancers.
But soon, the frown on his forehead deepened as he remembered no Demi Lich or Lich came in those power levels. As if Azolla sensed Abium's puzzlement, she continued with a chuckle.
'This title only applies to Necromancers. That Demi Lich is not a necromancer but a Death Mage.' Her words startled him.
'So, Rilos and others misunderstood their teacher Lord Shade's words and thought Aliza as their chosen one.' Abium made a guess and continued to listen.
'Not necessarily. Death mages are like priests. They borrow power from death dimensions or the Death gods and rank up in a slightly different way. They will also inherit memories about death spells and will be more powerful. But once a death mage advanced into a third-tier being, they will be forced to abandon a part of their humanity and becomes a Demi-Lich.'
'Aren't Death Lords also the same?' Abium couldn't help but interject.
'No. Unlike Death Lords, the Demi-Lich will not only lose their sense but also lose their human emotions. No, it's more like they will slowly become a part of the Death God or Death Dimension. You saw Demi-Lich's health status, right? That 'Twisted' condition is due to this.'
'Anyway, at the fourth tier, they will completely abandon humanity and would turn into pure Lich. Alas, a Lich can only be born when he manages to release himself from the Death God or the death dimension. Mostly, many will form a pact with the Will of the Underworld and becomes Underworld being. In Fifth Tier, the Liches will start to grasp the power of the Death domain and become king of the Underworld or Lich King. If someone managed to become a Lich King, then he/she would be almost as powerful as Demigods.' Azolla's words left Abium dumbfounded.
He even forgot to check the silver spatial ring and stood blankly for a few moments while engraving the information in his mind. After a second, he let out a deep sigh as he felt how insignificant he was and soon turned his attention to the spatial ring.
Soon, his expression turned into shock and then into disbelief.
'What the f*ck is this? How poor is this guy? Did this guy have only 100 silver coins and a personal diary?' Abium almost choked as he saw the wealth inside Demi-Lich's spatial ring. No magic stone or high-tier skeleton was stored inside this ring, which made him smile bitterly. But what made him almost spit a mouthful of blood was the space inside his spatial ring was just five cubic meters!
As Abium was about to toss the diary away in frustration, four pages fell on the ground from the diary.
At that moment, he realized that those pages were written in Abyssal language and knew that the pages were Lord Novak's diary.
A broad smile appeared on his face.
