August 29th, Easica year 10292, Dewsummit city, Peral Kingdom.
It was around 8 P.M.
Suddenly, space began to twist near the royal castle entrance and soon formed into a large portal. In the next instant, two shadows appeared from that portal and quickly moved out of Royal Street.
While walking from Royal Street, Abium suddenly felt connected to a star in the sky and looked up with a confused face. In the dark sky filled with endless stars, he felt some connection from the cluster of stars in the northern direction and furrowed.
At that moment, he could vaguely feel it had something to do with the Core of Itera and became more serious. After thing for a bit, he shook his head and once again resumed his walking.
A few minutes later, Abium and Grold stealthily walked out of the Royal Street and booked a room at a random inn in the Commoners' Borough.
After checking that they were in a safe place, Abium stared suspiciously at Grold, who was now in Black cat appearance and sighed heavily.
Then, he asked with a frown.
"Hey, why did you transformed into a cat?"
As Grold heard Abium's words, its tail began to stand up like a tree, and its body became stiff. Abium also noticed it began to tremble and curled his lips upward.
"Hehe, I didn't expect Mr. Mighty Grold sneaked into Fex Dimension without its master's permission."
"N-No! I am a mighty goblin shaman. Why should I ask permission from my master for silly things?" The Black cat started to stutter, but Abium didn't even give that Goblin the time to finish its words as he took out his academic black robe and touched the communication rune.
"Don't tell my master! I'm using a decoy golem to do my job. If he found out about this, he will definitely kill me." Grold got panicked and spoke hurriedly.
Meanwhile, Abium gave an amusing smile and replied while activating the communication rune on his robe.
"I didn't plan on revealing your secrets to the headmaster. I'm just going to call my teacher."
Soon, an annoying male voice came from the other side.
"Who is it?"
Abium's smile broadened instantly.
"Ah, Teacher! It's me, Abium."
"Hmm? YOU! You aren't dead?!" Zivior shouted from the other side in shock. Meanwhile, Abium almost got choked and asked loudly without even minding the other person was his teacher.
''What do you mean, 'you aren't dead?!' Teacher, Did something happen?''
A low sigh came from the other side, and soon Zivior continued.
"After capturing the Necromancer lady named Yalya, we discovered all necromancers went to a separate dimension and were unable to contact you in time. The next day morning, we received word that a few necromancers had returned alive from that dimension through a strange portal, but we couldn't find you. So, we have no choice but to assume that you had already died." Zivior ended his words, making Abium smile bitterly.
"Don't worry. We still didn't inform this news to the masses, so there is no problem. Kid, if you are free, come and meet me as soon as possible at the magic tower." Zivior said with a serious tone.
'Oh? He never spoke this gravely before. Something must have happened.'
"Okay. Teacher, what happened at the Grand Nobles' gathering?" Abium asked hurriedly.
"Nothing major happened. Only a few unlucky nobles got themselves killed in the crossfire. If not for your friend's druidic spells and your early warning, we would have lost many nobles, including the Crown prince. Wait. There is one major incident that happened in Roseglen city. I heard from Cole that Viscount Gauvain had betrayed the kingdom, and he found Viscount Gauvain seemed to be conspiring with a demon.
That demon killed everyone in that city and escaped right under his nose. Viscount's household members also escaped from our kingdom, and even Cole's disciple managed to escape using some strange spell." Zivior's words made Abium frown a bit, and soon he shook his head. He didn't need to be wary of that family anymore.
After a small discussion, Abium ended the connection and shifted his gaze toward the Black cat.
"I want to meet 'Watcher'," Abium said with a serious tone.
A surprised expression appeared on that cat's face.
"You will meet him tomorrow." The cat's mouth started to go slightly upward as it tried to smile and said mysteriously.
'Tomorrow?'
"Okay. Can I able to get that divine spell?" Abium didn't find anything odd with its word, so he asked while pointing his finger at the three empty spaces on its silver necklace.
''No. Watcher only gave it to me because of the 1000 years contract.'' Grold said proudly, and soon it stopped as it noticed Abium's evil grin. A chill went up its spine as it shivered a little. It once again cursed at itself for falling for such a simple trap and started shaking its head.
"Get one divine spell trinket for me; I will give you one fire elemental crystal." Abium took out a thumb-sized fire elemental crystal and showed it to Grold. When Grold saw that crystal, its eyes turned greedier, and without hesitation, it shouted excitedly.
"Deal!"
''You can get this crystal once you bring that divine trinket for me,'' Abium said casually and walked out of the room. After that, he left the Inn and moved towards the northern tower.
An hour later, Abium stood in front of the Northern tower entrance and quietly walked in.
Then, he took out his academic ring and soon moved toward the second floor. A few seconds later, he arrived in front of a large magic circle on the second floor and activated the ring.
A second later, he felt that space began to twist and soon found himself standing at the entrance of a large metal gate, surrounded by green trees. A smile crept on his face as he saw the white tower, which was almost tall as 500m, appeared in his sight.
After throwing one chaos stone to puppet Grold, he walked in.
A few seconds later, he entered the White Tower, moved towards the fourth floor, and soon arrived in front of his teacher's laboratory.
After that, he raised his right hand and knocked on the door twice.
