While Abium was struggling inside, another knock came from the other side, giving him some breath of air.
Soon, a slim lady with gray hair entered the house and looked at everyone cautiously. She wore a black robe and brown leather shoes and looked around 20 to 25 years old.
Following that, more figures entered the house one by one. Most of them were grey-robed, while a few were black-robed.
'Hmm, a total of 4 second-tier and nine first-tier necromancers, huh? I didn't expect that there would be so many necromancers come here.' Abium couldn't help but get restless inside.
'Hmm? Is it Grazius? Wait, Ubrauqir is also here?!' The more he looked at the second-tier necromancers, the more he got panicked inside.
'Although I don't know the name of the other two necromancers, I'm damn sure they were present at the auction hall a few months ago. What the hell are they doing here?' He felt an uneasy feeling in his heart.
'Although I still have no clue about this secret mission, this matter is not something I could mess with.'
As he was about to retract his gaze from the group, he suddenly saw two familiar faces among them and got startled inside.
'Murius? What is he doing here? Also, when did he reunite with Aliza? I thought Murius went to Wadel kingdom to search for Aliza.' Abium's eyes sharpened.
'Kid, he is not that first-tier necromancer. He is that auburn-haired tall guy who accompanied that Death Mage Aliza. He is currently using some transmutation magic' Azolla's words caused Abium's face to freeze.
'Is he the guy who managed to block my spiritual scan? Who is he? And what is he doing here?' At that moment, Ulzez, in Murius's appearance, turned his gaze toward his direction and smiled.
Abium instantly realized that this guy had already seen through his disguise and grew warier.
'Are these two the ones who tailed me yesterday when I was in Slum Borough?' He suddenly thought of the moment he felt he was being followed and inhaled heavily.
'If they said one word about me, my life would be doomed.' Abium gripped the amulet with his right-hand wrist and tried his best to keep a composed face.
For the next few seconds, he silently sat on the wooden chair while hiding his nervousness and waited patiently.
Meanwhile, Ulzez didn't say anything to others, walked closer to him, and sat on the wooden chair beside him.
At the same time, Aliza sat next to Ulzez and looked shocked. That simple expression she was trying to hide shows that she had seen something absurd and was deeply affected.
It all started yesterday.
When Abium walked out of Black Street yesterday, Ulzez told Aliza about his suspicion and brought her to follow after him. But after a few hours of spying, they noticed Abium was planning something big in the slums.
Soon, they also saw the whole event about how Abium executed the assassination plan and got astounded.
Although Abium had some of Azolla's unique functions, there was still some limit to it. Abium hadn't noticed he was being spied on by a Dragonkin from the Abyss and executed his plan.
When he changed his appearance using spell scrolls, Aliza instantly identified Baxter's face and almost shouted in shock! She had seen Baxter a few times while staying in the magic tower and became more confused.
The more they tail him, the more shocked they became!
Finally, both learned about the Necromancer's Gathering and decided to sneak in to learn more about him.
As Aliza was thinking deeply, Yozis made a fake cough from the back seat and spoke with a smile.
"Teacher Rilos would be very surprised if he finds out that you already rescued Lady Aliza, Murius."
"Haha! Of course, he would be surprised." A cold yet calm voice similar to the real Murius came from Ulzez's mouth as he laughed a little.
Meanwhile, Abium wore an uncomfortable expression and slowly asked while leaning his body towards Ulzez.
"You are the one I saw yesterday, right? Who are you? Why are you after me?"
"Oh? You recognize me?" A flash of surprise appeared on Ulzez's face.
"I'm Ulzez. Upon seeing your extraordinary scheme, I naturally became more curious about you. So, I thought that following you would be a good idea." Ulzez said with a mysterious smile and shifted his gaze toward the closed door.
A second later, the well-decorated wooden door opened with a creaking noise and revealed a middle-aged man, who was around 40 years old, with russet brown eyes and brown hair. He wore a red-robed dress, unlike a black robe, which made others puzzle. He was none other than Rilos.
"Is everyone here?" Rilos asked while glancing at everyone and soon widened his eyes as his gaze landed on Aliza.
"Lady Aliza! Thank the Lord of Death! I'm glad to see you are safe and sound."
He hurriedly moved towards Aliza and patted her head. After that, he slowly shifted his gaze toward Ulzez and added.
"Take care of her when we are on the mission, Murius. If you had informed me about your arrival a while ago, I could have arranged a place for you to stay." He said regretfully and continued, "Unfortunately, you guys can't go outside now. Chaos is about to descend in this street, so follow us closely and avoid participating in battles."
'Lady? Why did Rilos speak to her in a polite tone? Is she from a prestigious noble family?' Abium's mind went into disarray for a moment.
Meantime, Rilos shifted his gaze toward Abium and ordered.
"Baxter, give me that cursed pendant."
'So, he allowed me to join the main mission because of this cursed pendant, huh?'
Abium stood up, removing the cursed emerald pendant from his neck and giving it to Rilos.
On the other hand, Rilos swiftly caught the pendant with a soft smile and turned his gaze toward the nearby black-robed guy. He was a man with short black hair and fair skin. He appeared to be around 35 years old and had an average height, dark purple eyes, long eyebrows, and a high bridge nose.
He was none other than Grazius, who stole the Nether Elemental Crystal from Rilos during the auction.
'Now that I think about it, the last seal was also broken during this time, right?' Abium inhaled deeply.
Meanwhile, Rilos fell silent for three seconds and continued,
"I think it will be difficult to achieve. The dangers inside that place are not something we should take lightly."
After a short deliberation, Rilos took five red robes and another nine black robes from his space ring and distributed them to everyone.
"All of you change your clothes similarly to academic mages. It's just for formality to enter the Royal Palace." He said calmly.
Meanwhile, Abium also caught one of the black robes and wore it.
At that moment, Yozis, Ulzez, Aliza, and other first-tier necromancers got up from their seats while changing their robes and arrived closer to him.
'Wait! Black and red robes!'
Suddenly, he recalled the strange vision he had seen earlier and soon came to a realization.
'Mage Ubius's life is not in danger from the beginning. It's these guys who are about to die. But I only saw one red-robed figure die inside that underground area. Hmm, that means others must have escaped through some means.'
"Let's go. We don't have all day." Rilos said when he noticed everyone had changed their clothes and soon turned around to walk outside.
Like a flock of sheep, 15 necromancers walked out of that single-storied house and moved towards the palace's entrance gate.
At that moment, a squad of Royal Guards who stood at the entrance noticed their sudden arrival and looked at each other in confusion.
Even though the necromancers wore academic robes to look like academic mages, most guards here had seen all academic mages and knew that these guys were fake ones instantly.
A silver armored guard with a 2-meter tall, muscular figure stepped forward while gripping his broadsword's hilt tighter and blocking their path with a stern look.
"Halt! Who gave you the right to wear academic mages' robes?" He asked with disdain and continued, "You are under arrest for violating the royal rule-."
But before he could finish his words, a slim 183 cm tall human skeletal figure appeared in front of Rilos, who was in the lead, and sprinted towards that silvered armored guard while leaving afterimages behind.
That skeleton wore a black assassin cloth and moved like a real person, causing others to freeze stiff.
In a blink, that skeleton arrived before the silver armored guard, clutched a curved silver dagger in its bony hand, and thrust it towards his chest. Before anyone could understand, that skeleton figure disappeared and reappeared in front of another nearby guard.
The next moment, a slashing sound echoed, followed by a scream.
A second later, that guard felt that his head began to spin. The royal guards started to scream one by one and soon felt their whole surroundings spin.
They all got decapitated and died in a matter of seconds!
Abium's mind felt numb as he watched the horrifying scene.
There were many 3rd tier warriors and even 4th tier warriors among the group of Royal Guards, but they all died like nothing!
'This skeleton has the strength equal to a seventh-tier warrior!' Abium couldn't help but take a deep breath.
