Meanwhile, Ulzez's grave wounds started to close and healed up at a rapid speed.
Aliza had read about the Chaos Affiliation in books and realized she had done something stupid again.
'I really shouldn't have dived into the sea! My stupid mind!' She cursed at herself for being too reckless.
Meanwhile, Ulzez continued to chant for a while and soon completed.
"Praise the Dragon God!" After puffing out a loud breath from his lizard mouth, Ulzez shouted excitedly. But soon, his expression stiffened up. His red eyes started to flicker as he heard a rumbling noise from the other side of the metallic door.
"No good."
Ulzez stood up with difficulty, quickly grabbed Aliza's hand, and dashed out of the prison cell.
"H-Hey, what are you doing?" She stuttered nervously and soon noticed they were moving deep into the dark prison hall!
"Damn it! Before she returns with her pet, we have to get the hell out of here." Ulzez said in a deep tone and sprinted faster into the dark prison hall. At that moment, Aliza saw a fantastic thing and widened her eyes in surprise.
As he started running, a purplish fireball around five meters in diameter appeared at the tip of Ulzez's finger. The next instant, he threw the purple fireball towards the dark corridor and illuminated the whole area. In a blink, the gigantic fireball split into multiple small fireballs and crashed into every prison cell lock.
Bang! Bang! Bang!
"Girl, don't look behind. I think these guys will be enough to vent her thirst for blood." Ulzez spoke solemnly and glanced at the different monsters coming out from the prison cells. Each one looked sinister and appeared to be already on the verge of death due to starving for millenniums.
"What are you doing?! Aren't these all dangerous monsters?" Aliza shouted angrily.
"Don't ask questions now. If we want to live, there is no harm in using these beings as sacrifices." Ulzez's words caused Aliza to be more puzzled. But just as she was about to ask more questions, she heard screams and shrieks of monsters from behind and stiffened.
Shrieeekkkk!
"What were those noises?" Aliza asked in a startling tone.
'Those monsters are screaming in pain!' she could easily tell that sound came from one of the monsters they had released just now. Although she had many questions in her mind, she somehow understood the severity of the situation and decided to follow after him hastily.
"It's Syreni's doing. Come on; the exit is up ahead." Without turning back, Ulzez ran towards the end of the prison hall. Due to the purple light's presence, Aliza finally noticed another black metallic gate on the other side.
But this time, the gate was sealed from the other side.
"It's locked!" As Aliza noticed the sealed gate, she spoke gravely.
"You think this metal scrap will hinder us?" Ulzez said with a chuckle, conjured another large purplish ball of fire, and threw it at the metallic door. In a blink, the fireball arrived before the gate and exploded.
BOOM!
The next instant, a wide hole appeared in the metal door. It was around a one-meter circular hole that would be enough for Aliza and Ulzez to pass through.
Aliza watched the door with a wide gaped mouth and soon recovered as she noticed that the dragonkin had already started walking to the other side.
"Are we not in the deep sea?" She glanced warily around the sides and asked cautiously.
"Deep-sea? What are you talking about? We are in Prison Island, which is under the control of Plane Guardians." Suddenly, Ulzez stopped talking and shifted his gaze towards Aliza.
"How did you come here?" He asked, excluding a trace of confusion in his eyes.
Meanwhile, Aliza made a forced smile and responded solemnly.
"When exploring the deep sea, I found a Mother Goddess statue at the bottom. But when I touched the blue crystal on the statue's forehead, I got teleported and found myself in the prison hall."
"Hmm, a different exit? Usually, the prisoners' dead bodies will be transported outside through runic circles. Maybe you must have stumbled upon one of those exits and teleported here." Ulzez said with an understanding nod and then walked out.
Nodding, Aliza cautiously looked outside and followed after Ulzez. Once she stepped out of the broken gate, she saw a spiral staircase. She also saw a two-meter diameter pillar in the middle of the spiral staircase, and that pillar appeared to be connected to the surface.
She also saw multiple metallic doors everywhere and guessed the hall they came out of must be one of them.
'So, there must be a hundred times more monsters imprisoned in all the other halls!' The mere thought of them breaking out of the prison and swarming towards the surface made her shudder.
"Let's go. It will take time to reach the top." Ulzez said hurriedly and started running on the stairs. Aliza also followed after him and started to move up. They saw the same black painted metal doors on the sides from time to time, but both didn't stop their footsteps and went up ahead.
"How many floors are there in this prison?" Aliza started up at the top and asked with an anxious expression. It's been almost half an hour, but she still didn't see any exit.
"100. We almost reached the surface," Ulzez said solemnly and pointed his hand upward.
She breathed a sigh of relief as she saw some small bright light coming from there and hastened her footsteps.
Pant! Pant!…
"Why didn't I see any guards in this prison?" Aliza asked with puzzlement.
"You will see them at the top." Ulzez finished his words and soon arrived at the end of the spiral stairs, which were entirely blocked by rows of metal bars. Behind those bars was another metallic door, which seemed to be the final door to the exit.
Once Ulzez arrived near those metal rods, he clenched his lizard-like hand and punched those metallic rods with full force.
Bang!
Ulzez's rough hand collided with the metal, and the whole metallic block fell like powders. But he didn't stop there. Instead, he arrived before the metallic door and punched again. With a metal clanging noise, the tall black gate creaked and fell with a loud sound. Aliza took a long breath and walked out of the gate. The next instant, brightness assaulted their eyes and blinded their sight for a second.
A second later, both opened their eyes and got stunned.
In front of them was a large hall with a high ceiling, and pews were neatly arranged in rows on the aisle sides. Meanwhile, the sacred Emblem of Light, iron lampstands and candles were placed on the front wall.
But what made their expression freeze was that they saw many holy knights and priests in white robes staring back at them with dumbfounded expressions. Aliza turned her head towards her right side and saw a flag with a symbol of four long swords pointing outwards in an X pattern fluttering near the male statue.
The next instant, she quivered and took a step back in fear.
'Light Church!' That was the first thought that came to Aliza's mind as she saw a unique Nabla symbol.
"MONSTER!" A priestess lady standing near them began to tremble and let out a high-pitched scream. Within a second, dozens of Holy knights unsheathed their swords and moved in their direction hurriedly.
'F*ck, I'm doomed to die here.' Aliza put both hands on her head and cursed inwardly.
"Hmm, when did these fools replace Plane Guardians?" Ulzez narrowed his large brown eyes and spoke as he snapped his finger.
Like an illusion, his lizard figure changed into a human face with short auburn hair, triangular eyebrows, hooded brown eyes, and bronze skin. His figure turned less muscular, and his body was covered with red shirts and black pants.
Everyone was perplexed by the sudden change and stood with a stunned expressions on their faces.
"H-HE IS A MAGE!" Another shout came from one of those priests who sat on the front pew.
"Capture them." That priest stood up in a hurry and shouted while pointing his trembling finger at Aliza.
Hundreds of Holy Knights unsheathed their weapons a second later and moved in their direction.
Rumble! Rumble!
Shirrreeekkkk!
But before the Holy Knights could take any actions, another shrieking noise came from the deep underground and caused everyone's hair to stand up. Like a raging storm, clattering sounds came from the spiral footsteps.
"Grab my hand, little girl." Ulzez was the one who stood unfazed by the sudden rumbling noises and spoke steadily.
With a nod, Aliza instantly grabbed his right hand and sensed the surroundings starting to distort.
'Teleportation!' A surprised expression appeared on her face. Within a second, both disappeared from the Church and reappeared a few hundred meters away from the dome-shaped Church.
"I don't have enough miasmas to cast a long-range teleportation spell. We have no choice but to move by other means." Ulzez spoke while looking around the surroundings. Instead of buildings and skyscrapers, he only saw tall trees and plants around the hundred-meter tall church building.
"Are we on an island?" Aliza furrowed her eyebrows and asked.
"I'm sure of that. I don't know how Welo's followers managed to replace the Plane guardians, but I'm 100% sure they know nothing about this underground prison. These religious knights won't be able to stop those creatures." Ulzez said with a sigh.
"But the Light Church is the strongest force in this continent," Aliza said with a frown.
"But there is no strong soul on this island to stop the Blood Child." Ulzez smiled bitterly and started running on the dirt path leading toward the woods. After some time, both saw a few military ships and quickly moved in that direction.
