Chapter 63: Chapter 63: Brewing Plan
The streak of black light collided with the envoy faster than Ved’s brain could register. What followed was a deafening sound followed by a giant shockwave.
His body was hit by the shockwave and sent flying dozens of kilometres away like a cannon. He spit a mouthful of blood and felt like his organs had been punched.
When he came to he looked back at where the explosion happened and all he saw was a gigantic tornado connecting the heavens and the earth.
The tornado was over 2 kilometres in diameter, even from this distance he could feel it trying to draw him in.
He heard a bird cry coming from inside the tornado followed by loud exploding sounds like war drums.
Then the sky high tornado was split apart by a gigantic bone sword hundreds of metres in length.
When it cleared he saw two being with tremendously powerful auras facing each other, one was a pitch black bird as if made of pure darkness.
It had a wingspan of 4 metres, the envoy’s white eye was glowing and white light flowed all over it body making it look holy but it gave off a disgusting aura that made him retch, it aura had grown significantly higher than before.
Ved assumed that white light was the envoys version of haki. ’ This mother.... He wasn’t even taking us seriously.’ Ved was pissed, they had all fought so hard and this thing was just toying with them.
It sword shrunk and became a 4 metres long bone spear. The bird screeched and they both moved, their bodies became nothing but blurs to his eyes.
Two streaks of light that intertwined as they rose to the sky, everytime they clashed giant shockwaves blasted the ground leaving huge craters.
Their battle shook his soul, he imagined himself wielding so much power, with the power to shake the earth itself.
There were no techniques included in their fight only their bodies, well it was a spear for the envoy but still, their battle was synonymous to a natural disaster.
They fought high in the sky and their clashes were louder than thunder. Winds converged and spun around them creating humongous dark clouds that stretched for tens of kilometres.
Thunder roared and lightning fell from the sky like heavenly spears all due to a fight of two beings.
The sparks produced by their clashes ignited the air and as if the world was drenched in oil the fire spread through the clouds and descended to the earth.
This made so sense to him, scientifically speaking but it was happening right before his eyes.
The temperatures rose so high he felt like he was in an oven. Only a few seconds had passed but they had clashed thousands of times.
Thunder and lightning continued to roar around them like a boisterous feast of Thor and Zues yet neither seemed shaken by it as if lightning was nothing by a mere inconvenience.
A bolt descended straight towards him, it was too fast, all he saw was a flash then his body felt numb, fortunately natural lightning while ridiculously fast was not powerful enough to threaten someone of his level.
Even White’s lightning was much stronger than this in terms of volts but ironically enough, it was much slower than natural lightning, it speed seem to be limited by the strength of her will.
He turned his attention back to the calamitous fight above him and realised a troubling issue, while they appeared evenly matched the bird was starting to lose.
The black fog around it was being depleted rapidly, it made sense after all unlike the envoy the crow leader was using borrowed power.
Ved needed to think of a solution or else they will all die when the crow loses. He looked around the battlefield and calculated everything they could possibly use.
Then his eyes lit up, he ran to old man Goldi and told him his plan. ’ Mmmm, that does sound feasible, have you told the others?’
’ I will, but we going to need somebody to tell it to him.’ He pointed at the crow leader. ’ Mmm, getting close to them will be hard and dangerous, do not worry I will do it. ’
’No, I need you to keep that open, the entire plan depends on it.’ Goldi nodded. Ved ran around the battlefield informing everybody of his plan.
The golden monkey whose name he learnt was Zhandou Houzi agreed to fly up and inform the crow leader of the plan, he actually seemed excited to go up there.
Ved could tell this guy was like White, a battle maniac, the stronger the opponent the more he wanted to fight them, he decided he would keep his distance from him in the future.
The name was a mouthful after all Ved didn’t know Chinese nor did he understood why this monkey did so he decided to call him Ho, it was simpler and easier to remember.
So the plant was implemented, Ho flew up but he struggled to get close to them. The shockwaves from their fight was so intense even a powerful figure like Ho couldn’t easily approach them.
It should be mentioned that rank 4’s can fly but it drained too much essence and was not worth it, those without wings would only fly when it was necessary and it was not very stable.
Eventually Ho got close enough to use will transmission then flew back down but not before trying to deliver a single attack, ofcourse it was deflected effortlessly.
Their fight continued but the crow leader started flying lower and lower and so their battle drew closer to the ground.
When they got close enough the others attacked, while their attacks couldn’t do much to the envoy it was enough to split it attention.
Giving their main attacker a moment of respite. Ho attacked more relentlessly than others, no matter how many times his staff was deflected or he was sent flying with a single attack he came back.
Some part of his body even had some fur shaved off and he was bleeding profusely but he did not quit, he stubbornly attacked over and over again.
He was like a fly, couldn’t really hurt you much but was still too annoying to ignore. While they couldn’t harm it they were starting to push it back, Ved grinned, his plan was working, now it was up to Goldi to keep that thing open long enough.
