Chapter 69: Chapter 69: New Trait
Three days later he was standing infront of the river, he had bid farewell to his friends. He had no idea how long he would be gone and the world seemed to be getting more dangerous each day.
With Goldi and Pulse there he was atleast a bit reassured nothing would happen to the cute rabbits unless something really big happened, in which case his presence would not have made a difference.
He jumped into the river and his huge body sank to the floor, this was by design, he wanted to use the dense foliage as cover to catch prey off guard.
He started swimming downstream at a leisurely pace, the fish around him were not high rank so he ignored them, at this point anything below rank 2 barely gave him any points.
Not to mention when they’re also mortal grade. However it didn’t take long for him to come across a rank 2 fish, it was a catfish over 13 metres long.
This thing was like a whale, each of it movements split the water apart and the surrounding fish ran away from it as fast as they could.
But this behemoth was also running upstream, panic apparent in beastly eyes. Behind it he could see a giant armoured creature with saw like teeth.
It was a gigantic crocodile over 15 metres long, like the catfish it was a rank 2 but it grade was higher and from it aura it seemed to have reached the peak of rank 2 only a small distance from reaching rank 3.
Ved decided to end both of them, the catfish did not notice him until it was only a metre away from him, the dense foliage and his ability to hide his aura made him a perfect hunter.
Before it could react he crushed it skull with a single slap, the crocodile noticed him but it was too late, with a casual movement he appeared next to it.
It armoured skin did nothing to protect it, he bit it head and it died immediately then he ate both of them.

looking at the evolution points he got he felt depressed.The amount of points he got from lower ranked creatures seem to only get smaller, it becomes even worse when they also have a lower grade.
The crocodile gave him more points because it was atleast an earth grade. He sighed and continued swimming downstream.
Two days passed, in the past two days he had killed a few more rank 2 fish, their numbers seem to be growing the further downstream he swam.
The river also widened and became deeper as well. He thought about killing the rank 1 fish as but decided against, it would be a waste of his time and the fish.
He didn’t want to severely impact the ecosystem like he did with the swamp so he ignored those, besides if he kills them now they won’t get to evolve into higher ranks later.
It been three days since he left and he was yet to reach the sea. His body was resting on an underwater tree branch, in his hand was a half eaten fish.
Then he suddenly felt danger followed by the sound of zapping lightning, he was caught off guard. Before he could react he was hit by a bolt of lightning.
It didn’t have as much power as White’s lightning but it was faster, much faster. The electricity coursed through his body giving him a slight shock.
The pain made him unintentionally release his aura, the eel that was attacking him stopped, then turned around and tried to run.
’ Where do you think you’re going?’ his body cut through the water like a torpedo, the electric eel was very fast, it body flowed like a blue bolt of lightning but it was not faster than he was.
Before he reached it another bolt flew at him, he couldn’t even react to it, all he saw was a flash and it had already reached him, it was much faster than White’s lightning.
So fast it was physically impossible for him to dodge but fortunately it lacked power. It merely slowed him down for a moment but then a few more bolts came.
Each one landed on his body without exception. Electricity ran across his scales, even without much destructive power it was still shocking (ha pun).
The barrage of lightning bolt slowed him down, even though he was faster than the eel he was not able to catch up to it due to that.
He chased it through the river, their bodies moving so fast the water exploded wherever they passed.
Weaker fish did not even have time to get out of the way before being killed by the sonic booms.
The eel swam around a giant boulder. Ved did not change his direction and ran directly through it, the boulder shattered and rock fragments cut the water like bullets.
Some shot towards the eel and it was too late to react, a tiny rock hit it back and was crushed to dust was that was enough to divert the eels movements and slow it down for a moment.
He did not waste that opportunity, before it could react he sped up, the water around him exploded sending tons of it into the air, the vegetation was crushed and a cloud of dust spread through the river.
His body seemed to disappear and appear next to it, a moment later the water exploded behind him.
It reacted too late, shooting bolt after bolt of lightning but he cut through them with his claws and grabbed it.
The eel was huge with a length of over 12 metres, it mouth was filled with saw like teeth. It discharged even more lightning at him.
He didn’t kill it immediately but looked it dead in the eye, there was no spark, it was a demonic beast but he already knew that from it aura.
It struggled in his grasped to no avail then he bit it head off killing it immediately. The lightning around it died down and he ate it all within seconds.
