Chapter 70 The Report

Chapter 70 Reporting

When Ye Xingguo came to his senses, Liu Xiumei had already disappeared. Thinking about the ledger, he had to quickly deal with the goods in the warehouse, hoping to leave no trace.

But what Ye Xingguo didn't know was that Ye Shengge had been listening to his movements all along and wouldn't have been idle with the ledger.

Ye Shengge had indeed taken action. Originally, she had intended to secretly write a letter to the coal plant director about the ledger and the warehouse. However, she then thought that the director, being very concerned about the factory's reputation, might handle it privately, which wouldn't achieve the punishment she desired for Ye Xingguo.

Therefore, Ye Shengge wrote a hastily scribbled举报信 (jǔbào xìn - report letter) in the school restroom, then took leave to go to the reporting department. The letter clearly listed all the individuals involved in the coal sales, as well as the warehouse and its inventory. It also warned that the warehouse inventory was likely to be transferred that night, even specifying the transport team member responsible for the transfer.

At that time, the reporting department still took such matters seriously (many departments and positions were kept vague; everyone understood internally). Thus, Ye Shengge was not afraid of inaction and was certain the coal plant couldn't suppress this issue.

After finishing everything, Ye Shengge instructed Mo Lin to guard the reporting department and observe their actions for the day.

Actually, Ye Shengge felt a bit regretful. She had initially planned to use this incident to have Ye Xingguo pester Wan Qiong for money, then lure people over to embarrass Wan Qiong. But now there was no time. Once the goods in the warehouse were transferred, there would be no evidence. Only by catching them red-handed could these people be completely dealt with.

Nothing is perfect. The score with Wan Qiong would have to be settled slowly. Ye Shengge let out a long sigh, realizing how tiring it was to plan something.

With nothing else to do, Ye Shengge propped herself on the stone table in Mo Lin's courtyard, took out paper and pen, and began writing furiously. She needed to quickly write an article about her own life. Writing articles was effortless for Ye Shengge.

She reread the finished article twice and, finding no issues, gently petted Xiao Tiantian before leaving.

Arriving at the coal plant, the doorman waved her in without even stopping her. Ye Shengge then sauntered directly to the director's office and gently knocked twice.

"Come in."

"Director Comrade, I'm here to submit a draft, and I'd like you to review it."

The director was initially annoyed to see Ye Shengge. After all, the old woman from the Ye family had yelled at him that day. If not for this incident, why would she have caused him so much trouble and embarrassed him at the factory?

Ye Shengge noticed the director's impatient expression. This report was optional. However, if Ye Xingguo caused trouble tonight, there would be no time to transfer her household registration. At that point, Ye Shengge's mother might even sell her for money.

Therefore, she had to get the article published now. With the published report and a certificate from the director, she could then get away from her mother.

"Director Comrade, please take a look at this article. I've clearly written about the assistance you've given me, as a form of gratitude."

The director took the manuscript and read it. The writing was excellent, praising him as upright and kind, and detailing his significant help to the poor orphan's future life. Such an article, filled with effusive praise, made the director's face light up with joy.

"Good, good. Ye girl, when do you plan to mail it?"

"If you feel it's alright, Director Comrade, I'll mail it immediately. Then I'll wait for my father to get the money. By the way, Director Comrade, has my father given you the money? It wouldn't be good if the article gets published and the money isn't returned. After all, once it's in the newspaper, everyone will see it, right?"
