Chapter 8 Humiliation

Chapter 8 Suffocated

Before Ye Laotaipo could find an excuse, Grandma Sun spoke sternly.

“Fengmei, is Shengsong so weak she can’t even eat an egg? What kind of heart disease makes it impossible for her to eat anything? Fengmei, if you chose to raise Shengsong, you can’t treat her like this. I truly don’t understand. You’re willing to spend money to treat the child, but not willing to let her eat something decent. What’s the reason?”

Grandma Sun’s question was also something Ye Shengsong couldn’t understand. It seemed there was a reason that compelled the old woman to keep the original body alive, yet she was unwilling to let her eat well.

Ye Shengsong quickly handed the extremely unpalatable egg custard to Ye Laotaipo, her voice weak as she said, “Grandma, don’t be angry. I won’t eat it anymore. I’ll never be greedy again.”

After speaking, she quickly stood up and returned to her room, looking as if she couldn’t bear to look at the egg custard again. She wanted to force out the true nature of the original body’s grandmother. Only then could she find the reason for her confusion.

At this moment, Grandma Sun also stood up. She had no daughters in her life, not even granddaughters. She had always liked Ye Shengsong, who was pretty and well-behaved. It was just that the family was too busy, otherwise, they wouldn’t have been unaware for so many years that her old friend was actually a granddaughter abuser.

“Fengmei, eating too much won’t choke you, will it? The child is so thin, yet you can still eat? You truly surprise me.”

Grandma Sun turned to look at the closed door, then turned and left angrily. She really didn’t want to look at her old friend any longer, and she wondered in her heart if she had misjudged her all these years. Could someone who treated their own child poorly be a good person?

Ye Laotai po’s face was already distorted. She cursed Grandma Sun for meddling and wanted to rush into the room to beat the wretched girl. However, her body wouldn’t allow it, leaving her extremely suffocated. After raising her for so many years, the most suffocating part was not daring to act out her deepest dissatisfaction.

Ye Shengsong watched Ye Laotaipo’s expression from the window, feeling a sense of satisfaction. Since she had confirmed that this old woman was not good, she would collect some interest before finding out the reason.

Just as Ye Shengsong was preparing to lie back down on the bed, she suddenly noticed a hole in the wall by the bed. It allowed her to see into the adjacent room. This was clearly not made by the original owner. The adjacent room was Ye Laotaipo’s room. This meant she was being monitored even while sleeping.

What was it about the original owner that made an old woman monitor her like this? Ye Shengsong looked into the hole and could see the old woman’s bed. It seemed she was watched even when sleeping. The hole couldn’t be blocked, and she couldn’t use her space in the room anymore.

Ye Shengsong felt a surge of suffocation. Even her room was no longer safe. She had to quickly find out the reason and leave this home as soon as possible.

When Ye Laotaipo entered the room, she immediately looked into the hole. Seeing the wretched girl lying on the bed as usual, she glared fiercely.

In fact, this was a two-way mirror. Ye Laotaipo could see herself, and she could monitor the other person. She didn’t believe she wouldn’t find any clues.

Ye Shengsong lay on her side on the bed and suddenly thought that the original owner couldn’t possibly not have noticed this hole, especially since the light from the next room would shine through at night. However, in the original owner’s memories, there was no mention of this. This meant either the original owner was truly foolish or she trusted the old woman to an extreme degree.

In the evening, Ye Xingguo indeed brought meat. Ye Laotaipo was truly happy to see her son, as she had only given birth to one child in her life and had always doted on him.
