Chapter 682 The Underground Cave Part Two

Lin Chun's thunder instantly spread outwards, and the flames in my hand exploded simultaneously.

At the same moment, we both rushed out from the cave entrance.

We heard the shrieks of bats. I flicked my wrist and summoned a ball of flames, blocking the entrance.

In the faint light of the flames, I realized we had entered a much larger room.

This place was exceptionally vast, likely several hundred square meters. I couldn't fathom how such a space had come to be.

Just as Lin Chun was about to speak, his expression suddenly tensed, his eyes fixed intently on what lay ahead.

Following his gaze, I saw a monster a few meters away, staring at us with curiosity.

Its appearance was almost identical to the monsters we had encountered before. The difference was that this one's eyes held a flicker of curiosity.

It probably had no idea why we appeared or what we were.

However, I wouldn't give it any time to react.

Almost instantaneously, flames and thunder silently appeared. I grabbed the monster by its neck.

This was the result of my current training. I had a better understanding of speed and could now utilize it more proficiently.

I directly seized its neck, then my short sword flashed. Before the monster could even react, it was dispatched!

Using the faint firelight, I cautiously surveyed my surroundings.

It was then I realized this place was even larger than I had imagined.

Carved into the walls were numerous small rooms, and within each lay a monster.

I wasn't sure of their current state, whether they were resting or sleeping.

However, after careful observation, I recorded the number of monsters.

A total of seventy-three rooms!

In other words, there were seventy-three monsters here.

But what truly captured my attention was the room at the very top.

This room was almost identical to the others but significantly larger and contained additional items.

With my current eyesight, I could clearly see that they were firearms.

There were handguns, submachine guns, and machine guns, though their models were quite ancient.

Furthermore, that particular room was empty. Most of the rooms were vacant, with only a few small ones containing lying monsters.

"These must be the weapons used by those soldiers..." I formed a general idea in my mind.

Lin Chun glanced at me, a flicker of vigilance in his eyes. He had likely noticed it too.

"Brother Lu, what do we do now?" Lin Chun whispered.

"Move..." I replied softly. "Be quick and finish them all!"

Hearing this, Lin Chun's eyes flashed with ferocity. A dagger appeared in his hand, a remarkably sharp weapon forged by Beichi.

My short sword also appeared in my hand.

The moment Lin Chun moved, I did too!

My body became a blur, instantly appearing beside a monster. My short sword ruthlessly severed its neck.

Green blood sprayed out, but I didn't hesitate, pressing onward.

Lin Chun was much slower than me, but he still managed to quickly eliminate several monsters.

Our movements were incredibly stealthy, and our attacks were swift.

In just a few minutes, all the monsters in this area were dead.

Seeing that all the monsters here were eliminated, a smile spread across Lin Chun's face. "I didn't expect it to be this simple..."

"No..." I shook my head, my expression still grave. "We've only eliminated a portion. Look at those rooms. The monsters not here now... there should be around forty more."

Honestly, the number of monsters exceeded my expectations.

Although the strength of the people I brought had improved significantly, they could still handle one monster alone. Facing two would be challenging, three might lead to injury, and four would leave them no chance to resist.

Even though some had been eliminated, forty monsters were still unaccounted for.

If they were all enraged simultaneously and attacked, we might suffer casualties.

Lin Chun also noticed the anomaly and looked at me with a solemn expression. "Brother Lu, what should we do next?"

"Wait here!" I said.

I suspected the monsters had only temporarily left this area, perhaps for patrol or to search for food, but they shouldn't be gone for too long.

Despite having completely transformed into monsters, their living habits still shared some similarities with humans.

These creatures were simply on a shift change.

Those that were supposed to rest were now on duty, and those on duty were now resting.

It was just that these particular ones were unlucky, discovered by us and subsequently eliminated.
