There was nothing else on the wall but a photograph.
It was clearly a very old photograph, the frame made of wood and covered with glass.
A thick layer of dust had settled on the frame, but it was still possible to make out that it was a group photo.
The reason for my reaction was that through the blurry glass, I saw a human face.
"Richard…" I murmured the name.
Lin Chun also froze. He had never seen me with such an expression before. He grabbed my shoulder, "Brother Lu, what's wrong?"
I didn't answer. I rushed to the wall, took down the photo frame, and wiped away all the dust.
There were five people in the photo. My gaze fixed on the one in the center.
The man was wearing a black robe and a top hat.
Although the image was blurry, his face was still very clear.
I was certain that this man was Richard.
But why was his photo in this place?
Back in that mysterious place, I thought I had understood Richard's past. I had always assumed he came from a very long time ago, but now it seemed the situation was different from what I had expected.
The fact that this place had his photo meant that this man had a connection to this place.
A guess suddenly formed in my mind.
Could it be that Richard was the one who created these monsters?
But why would this man be in that place?
Moreover, Richard had told me that he lived a very long time ago.
According to the chronological order of the three of us, Richard was the first to enter that space, Vexi was the second, and I was the last.
But his photo appearing here…
"Are you okay, Brother Lu?" Lin Chun asked anxiously, grabbing my shoulder and shaking me hard.
"I'm fine…" I gathered my thoughts. "I just suddenly saw a photo…"
"Do you know the person in this photo?" After confirming that I was alright, Lin Chun looked at the photograph.
"No…" I smiled. "He just looked a bit familiar, but I must have mistaken him…"
Although I said that, I was absolutely sure that this man was Richard.
"What should we do next?" Vexi asked.
"Since there's nothing valuable here, let's go find that monster…" I said, carefully taking out the photo and putting it in my pocket.
There was indeed nothing else useful in this observation room. The two of us retraced our steps back to the main hall.
The hall was still silent. I closed my eyes and expanded my Spiritual Sense.
Seeing me close my eyes, Lin Chun immediately fell silent.
After a moment, I opened my eyes, my gaze filled with shock. I pointed to the front left, "Over there!"
Lin Chun nodded, and we two rushed over as fast as we could.
When we arrived, we found a door.
This door seemed to be made of the same material as the previous ones, but it was clearly not as thick as the other two.
There were a lot of bloodstains at the entrance of the door, all of them green.
There were fresh claw marks on the door, which must have been made recently.
"Shall we go in?" Lin Chun asked.
"Let's go!" I said, my body covered by the Shepherd's Power, ready to counter any surprise attack from the monster.
As we walked towards the door, we found a narrow passage in front of us.
The surface was very smooth, as if it were made of a special material.
I scraped my short sword against it, but it didn't leave any mark.
I frowned. The Shepherd's Power covered my arm, and I fiercely stabbed the wall with my short sword.
It only left a small dent on the wall. The expected scene of the sword sinking into the wall did not happen.
"Is this wall this hard?" Lin Chun asked, looking at my short sword.
He knew very well how destructive my short sword was, yet my full-force strike had caused no damage to the wall.
"It might be related to attributes…" I smiled, not dwelling on the matter, and continued walking forward.
We walked for about three minutes, and the stairs suddenly began to descend.
As we continued forward, the space on both sides began to widen.
I reached out, condensing the Shepherd's Power in my palm, which then transformed into a ball of fire. The light instantly spread out.
Everything around us became clearly visible.
However, when the two of us clearly saw our surroundings, despite being mentally prepared, we were still startled.
The arrangement of this place completely exceeded my expectations!
