Chapter 28 Sweet Torment

Shangguan Yao would save me?

I hadn't expected it.

In his panic, Li Degui fired a shot and then froze in cowardice. I dashed forward and, with all my might, delivered a fierce kick to Li Degui's face.

Li Degui cried out in pain and fell to the ground.

I picked up the gun from the ground and pointed it at him, saying, "You son of a bitch, who is the one saying goodbye to the world now!"

Li Degui begged for mercy, his lower body instantly releasing a foul-smelling liquid!

He had soiled himself!

Disgusting!

Looking at his pathetic state, I sneered inwardly. Simply shooting Li Degui like this was too easy for him, and it wouldn't quell the anger burning within me!

I turned off the gun and tucked it into my waist. Then I walked over and kicked Li Degui, who was now slumped on the ground.

"You son of a bitch, you thought you could take me down!"

The more I beat Li Degui, the angrier I became, my fists raining down on him like a storm. It felt as though I had an endless supply of strength.

When I finally stopped, Li Degui was a bloody mess on the ground, barely breathing.

Seeing me stop, Luo Yaqin and the others, who had been startled awake, rushed forward, bound Li Degui tightly, and tossed him into a corner.

Guan Hai'er, seeing me looking refreshed, happily exclaimed, "Brother Ye, you're all better, aren't you!" The others also chattered away, offering their congratulations.

I was taken aback and felt myself.

Indeed, the weakness and the feverish chills were gone. Instead, every cell in my body was roaring, urging me to eat quickly. kuAiδugg

Shangguan Yao let out a soft hum from the side and said, "If you're feeling better, you should get up and move around. If you get sick again, no one will take care of you!"

I saw through her tough exterior to her soft heart and didn't argue. I walked over to the campfire, picked up some food, and started eating. I didn't know how long I had been unconscious, and I had just fought a battle; I was starving.

As I ate, Guan Hai'er teased, "Brother Ye, you have no idea how your sister Luo reacted when you were unconscious. She kept giving you medicine and keeping you warm."

Luo Yaqin sat shyly in front of me and playfully hit Guan Hai'er, telling her not to talk nonsense.

I looked at Luo Yaqin and suddenly remembered the dream I had then. I felt a pang of longing, wishing everything in that dream had come true!

The large amount of food I consumed restored my senses, and I began to ponder.

This illness was strange. The sea snake wasn't venomous, and I had only gotten rained on. Why did I become so ill?

Could it be?

Just as I was about to delve deeper into my thoughts, Li Degui stirred and shouted at me, struggling against his bonds, "Let me go! You bastard! You just wait until I get out of here! I will kill you! I'll cut you into a thousand pieces and feed your flesh to wild dogs! Let me go! If you have the guts, fight me again!"

This beast's vitality was truly tenacious; he hadn't died despite being beaten so severely!

Damn it, so annoying!

Li Degui's shouts were like the barking of a stray dog to me.

Bark away. Just you wait, I'll make you wish you were dead, but unable to die!

Guan Hai'er then walked up to me and gently took my arm. "Brother Ye, how are you feeling? Are you feeling any better?"

I reached out and patted her little head, playfully messing up her hair.

"Don't worry, your brother isn't that fragile. A good night's sleep will fix me."

At that moment, Luo Yaqin walked over, whispered something in Guan Hai'er's ear, and Guan Hai'er gave me a concerned look before leaving.

Luo Yaqin picked up the first-aid kit and knelt beside me, gently lifting my injured leg to change my dressing.

She took out the vodka I had brought back earlier, poured a little out, soaked a cotton swab, and began to gently wipe my wound.

The sting of alcohol on an open wound was a unique kind of agony!

Seeing me wince, Luo Yaqin lowered her head and gently blew on the area I had just wiped with the cotton swab. "Does it still hurt?"

Damn, her breath sent my soul soaring!

My wound didn't hurt, but other parts of me were throbbing!

After blowing for a while, Luo Yaqin saw that my complexion looked a bit pale. She leaned closer and whispered in my ear, "Lu Zi Ye, are you still feeling cold? Do you want me to sleep with you tonight?"

Holy hell!

I felt Luo Yaqin's firm, ample bosom pressing against my chest, making it difficult to breathe.

I caught a glimpse out of the corner of my eye and saw Shangguan Yao sitting by the campfire, staring at us coldly, her teeth clenched. She seemed very angry and appeared to be muttering something.

Damn it! If you want to sleep with me, can't you find a private moment? Everyone else is still awake. How am I supposed to agree to this?

I looked serious and pushed Luo Yaqin away from me.

"No need. I'm feeling much better now. You should go back. I want to sleep now."

Luo Yaqin's expression seemed a little crestfallen, as if she hadn't expected me to refuse her. She bit her lower lip, said nothing, picked up her medicine box, and left.

A sweet torment indeed.
