Chapter 478 The Illusion

When my hand touched the green light mass, my entire being entered an incredibly mysterious state.

The sensation was remarkably pleasant, as if I were enveloped in a warm spring.

At one point, when I opened my eyes, all I could see was green.

What in the world is going on?

It felt like I was in an endless void, surrounded by a vast expanse of green.

There was nothing else.

I could hear no sound, feel no other presence, not even speak.

The only thing I could perceive was something slowly entering my body.

Suddenly, my mind became clear.

Everything seemed to be forgotten, with only syllables echoing in my mind.

I felt an overwhelming sense of drowsiness, a fatigue that seemed to originate from the deepest part of my consciousness.

Even though I struggled desperately to shake it off, it was utterly useless.

Am I done for?

Will falling asleep kill me?

Such thoughts crossed my mind, but in the next instant, they too were consumed.

I fell into a deep slumber.

I have no idea how much time passed, but when I awoke again, I found myself in a different surroundings.

I was now in a massive forest, with trees densely packed all around me.

These trees were lush with foliage, entwined with various vines, appearing both strange and harmonious.

"I've transmigrated? They're not messing with me like this, are they?!"

I felt a surge of exasperation, wondering how things had become this way.

As I pondered, I suddenly noticed that the surrounding trees seemed to possess a life of their own.

Then, a beam of green light descended from the sky. The tree closest to me was struck, transforming into strange characters.

More beams of light followed, striking the trees one by one, all of them transforming into characters.

All of this happened so bizarrely that I stood there, utterly incapable of action.

The characters swirled madly before my eyes, then gathered together.

The green light suddenly shifted to golden, enveloping the world around me.

Then, the surroundings once again became green.

It was as if the trees had never existed. This green world was identical to when I had first entered.

What is this all about?

My mind was filled with countless questions, but in the next instant, I noticed something was amiss.

Floating directly in front of me was an ancient book.

It was the only object present in this green world.

At the same time, I knew with absolute certainty that this book held immense significance for me.

Without further hesitation, I reached out for the book.

But as my hand was about to touch it, I felt as if there were tens of thousands of miles separating me from it.

I desperately lunged forward, exerting all my strength.

I knew that book was likely what I sought, and also my only way to leave this place.

I don't know how long it took; all I know is that within that green world, I never stopped.

I ran forward incessantly, advancing continuously.

Though there were no reference points, I could feel myself getting closer to the book.

At a certain moment, just as I was about to touch the ancient book again.

The book vanished from before me once more, reappearing further away.

Damn it!

I couldn't help but curse. What kind of trick is this?

After all my hard work, after running for so long, I was finally within reach, only for it to disappear again?

As I was thinking this, a burning sensation suddenly appeared on my chest.

I lifted my shirt to look, and the tattoo representing the Tree of Life was glowing with green light.

Then, I saw that the Tree of Life, which previously only had a trunk, slowly sprouted a branch.

At that moment, an invisible force was released from the branch, instantly enveloping the ancient book and forcibly pulling it towards me.

Is that even possible?

I was startled, but instinctively, I grabbed the ancient book.

At that very moment, the green world began to crumble. Yet, I could only stand there and watch, my body completely beyond my control.

Until the last speck of green dissolved into starlight and vanished, I finally regained control of my body.

Those starlight particles merged into my being, and then, I suddenly opened my eyes.

The instant I opened my eyes, I saw a familiar face before me.

That face was filled with worry and exhaustion, but upon seeing me open my eyes, a smile couldn't help but appear.

I paused, then softly uttered, "Yaqin..."
