We simply buried the bodies to prevent scavengers from gathering, then hurried towards the direction where Ke Zhu had signaled earlier.
The sound of the whistle hadn't been far from where we fought, and within about half an hour, I spotted a camp.
The camp was extremely rudimentary, likely because the remaining members of the Kasa tribe had only recently fled here and hadn't yet established proper infrastructure.
In the open spaces within the camp, numerous pointed wooden stakes were set up, impaled with human heads that hadn't yet dried!
This sight ignited a burning rage within me, making me wish I could dig Ke Zhu out of the ground and tear him to pieces!
This beast was not human!
I couldn't imagine that if we hadn't defeated Ke Zhu, our heads would now be hanging on those stakes!
Despite my anger, I didn't rush forward. Instead, I used my binoculars to observe first.
The camp wasn't large, and I could vaguely make out the general situation inside. The entire camp had only one entrance, guarded by two savage warriors. It seemed all the able-bodied warriors had been taken out, leaving behind a group of elderly, weak, women, and children.
Of the two savage warriors, one was over two meters tall and clearly formidable, while the other seemed ordinary.
Now was the perfect time for me to take this camp!
Without further hesitation, I emerged from the trees with Ke Xin and Ke Ya, walking towards the camp entrance.
As we approached, the two savage warriors spotted us.
The one over two meters tall let out a roar and charged at me.
Calmly, I drew my pistol from my chest and fired a shot at the savage warrior's chest.
With the sound of the gunshot, a splash of blood bloomed on the savage warrior's chest, and he fell to the ground, never to rise again.
The remaining savage warrior seemed to have had his courage shattered. Seeing his companion taken down by a single shot, he began to yelp incoherently, then threw down his weapon and prostrated himself before me, seemingly begging for his life.
I had no interest in harming such a weakling whose spirit had been broken. I simply walked up to him and, in the savage language, boomed, "Tell me quickly what the situation is inside the camp, or I will kill you!"
Terrified, the savage warrior blabbered like a pouring bean, as if wanting to tell me even when he was born.
The gunshot at the camp entrance had also alerted those inside. A young savage boy ran out to take a look, then ran back in.
Soon after, an old savage, who appeared very aged, emerged and immediately knelt down upon seeing Ke Xin and Ke Ya.
"Two Saintesses, the Kasa tribe awaits your leadership to guide us towards revival!"
Hearing the old savage's words, I couldn't help but chuckle inwardly.
Truly, old age had made him cunning. Seeing us arrive with guns, he had immediately flipped sides.
When Ke Zhu was alive, he hadn't even dared to resist, yet now he was eagerly flattering us.
Ke Xin and Ke Ya didn't answer the old man’s words. Instead, they looked at me, as if awaiting my decision.
"Since you put it that way, then lead the way to welcome your Saintesses' return! And quickly, bring me the medicine to treat the Plum Blossom Snake venom!"
On the way to the camp, I had already asked Ke Xin and Ke Ya.
They had told me that the Kasa tribe's succession method was survival of the fittest, the strongest reigns supreme. Now that I had killed Ke Zhu, I could take over the tribe by eliminating his loyalists.
This situation was something I had envisioned after killing Ke Zhu.
In the valley, some of the people led by Ke Zhu had been disloyal to his command. Now that Ke Zhu was dead, it was a perfect opportunity for Ke Xin and Ke Ya to take over the tribe as Saintesses, thus strengthening my own forces.
This old savage before me clearly held considerable influence in the Kasa tribe and was capable of managing affairs, perhaps even useful.
I was unaware of the whereabouts of the Plum Blossom Snake venom antidote, so it was fortunate he could retrieve it. This would allow me to return quickly and rescue Luo Ya Qin.
"Yes, Master!"
The old savage seemed to understand my words. He nimbly stood up and led us into the camp.
As I followed Ke Xin and Ke Ya into the camp with the old savage, I suddenly noticed an open space within their camp where several wooden fences had been erected.
Several raggedly dressed individuals were tied with ropes, sitting within these enclosures.
Our arrival seemed to startle them. Suddenly, one of them shouted my name loudly.
"Lu Zi Ye! Brother Ye! Save me quickly!"
