Chapter 254 Even a Celestial Being Couldn't Do This!

It feels so warm...

In my daze, I saw my long-lost home. Mom was cooking in the kitchen, her face beaming with a smile.

"Son, you're back! Come in quickly, the food will be ready soon."

Mom!

I couldn't help but take two steps forward. The door was right in front of me.

Suddenly, a searing pain shot through my chest, so intense it felt like I was about to turn to ashes.

Damn it!

I clutched my chest in agony and crouched down. It took a long while for the feeling to gradually subside.

When I shifted my attention back to the beam of light, my home was gone. In its place were more lights!

"Uncle Weirdo, what's wrong?"

My voice had woken up the two sisters and the woman. Qi Xinxin rubbed her eyes, looking at me with confusion.

"What... what is that?!"

Qi Qiaoqiao looked up inadvertently and was instantly stunned speechless.

The previous beam of light had emanated from the ghost ship, and now the ghost ship was undergoing an incredible transformation.

The hull, which was originally dilapidated and covered in moss, was now gleaming and as smooth as if even a mosquito would slip on it.

It was as if the ship had broken free from the curse of time and returned to a long, long time ago.

What was even more alarming was that the ghost ship had been silent, but with the dazzling lights from above, figures began to appear one by one. Voices mingled, and the ship was now hosting a lively party!

Was this a hallucination?

I stared blankly at the ghost ship. The changes it was undergoing now surpassed my understanding. I sniffed, and I could even smell the aroma of food wafting from the ghost ship!

Damn it, even an immortal couldn't conjure living people out of thin air!

I quickly took out my binoculars to observe the commotion on the ship. The people on board were all dressed in suits and very sophisticated. Most of them were white, and the scene looked very harmonious.

The more I looked, the more my heart sank. Everything before me seemed incredibly real, yet it was this very reality that made me doubt if I was dreaming.

I took a few deep breaths, dispelling the discomfort in my heart.

After observing the situation on the ship, a guess began to form in my mind: the people on the ship and we were living in two completely different worlds!

Firstly, although they were dressed impeccably, the styles of their clothes were ones I had only seen in old American and European films, popular in the 1920s and 30s.

Secondly, although the sea air cooled down at night, it was still over twenty degrees Celsius, not particularly cold. Yet, the people on the ship wore thick clothes. Any normal person would have been sweating profusely.

"Is this ship carrying the souls of the dead? And were those who watched us during the day them?!"

Qi Qiaoqiao had been watching for a long time, her voice trembling as she tugged at my sleeve.

"Don't be afraid, these are just the tricks of some ghosts. We just need to ignore them!"

I replied to Qi Qiaoqiao with a calm expression, but my heart was heavy.

If illusions in this world could truly simulate even smells, then perhaps heaven and hell actually existed.

But no matter how heavy my heart felt, I couldn't show it, or we would fall into disarray before the enemy even made a move.

After hearing my explanation, Qi Xinxin and Qi Qiaoqiao visibly relaxed. The woman beside them, who had been silent, seemed deep in thought.

I had initially decided that no matter how much commotion the ghost ship made, I would not go aboard. However, an unexpected situation arose.

From somewhere on the bustling ghost ship, a waiter suddenly appeared. He had a typical Eastern European face, with fair skin and a high nose.

Perhaps he saw us by chance, and he slowly walked towards us. Strangely, he seemed not at all surprised by our presence.

"Ladies and gentlemen, our reception is about to begin. Please come aboard."

The waiter was exceptionally polite, standing at the gangway and offering us a standard greeting.

The air froze for a moment.

None of us had expected that the people on the ship could see us. And they were even trying to invite us aboard!

"Uncle Weirdo, why don't we just run?"

Qi Xinxin hid behind me, whispering fearfully.

Run? As if it were that easy!

I smiled bitterly. If I could run, I would have slipped away the moment we boarded.

If we wanted to escape, we would have to do it in this small boat, but now this boat was connected to the ghost ship by thick iron chains, completely locked down.

What else could we do?!

As I racked my brain for a solution, the waiter, who had been smiling at us, gradually changed his expression.

His smile became stiff, and a fierce glint slowly appeared in his eyes.

"Please, come on board!"
