Chapter 454 Don't You Have One?

The moment I saw that look in his eyes, I was actually startled.

This was not the look of a normal person; it held too many emotions.

"What do you plan to do?" I asked, looking at Richard.

"I need some things..." Richard picked up the red wine and took a deep gulp, then poured himself another glass to calm his emotions. "I'm sorry, I might have gotten a bit agitated..."

Weixi came over and patted Richard on the shoulder, his face full of sympathy.

If nothing unexpected had happened, he had probably seen this situation many times before.

"I hope you can forgive him. Being trapped here for so many years, anyone's emotions can change..." Weixi said.

I nodded in understanding. "What needs to be prepared?"

Richard glanced at me, his emotions now restored. "There are three items in total. Currently, Weixi and I each have one..."

Hearing this, a possibility suddenly struck me.

No way?

Could the last item be with me?!

"Mine is the earth xun," Richard said, then took out a small object and showed it to me.

It was a relatively standard earth xun, but judging by the marks on it, it must have been many years old.

Even so, it still maintained a smooth luster, and I wasn't sure if it was due to the material being special or because its owner had preserved it very well.

"Mine is the harmonica," Weixi said, pulling a harmonica from his inner pocket.

It was a harmonica with a very ancient design, even appearing somewhat rustic.

There were no ornate decorations on it, nor any intricate mechanisms. At first glance, it was just a very ordinary harmonica.

Seeing these two items, I subconsciously remembered the Zukadi I had found earlier, along with that small piece of paper.

After showing their items, they both turned their gaze to me.

"I..." Seeing their eager eyes, I didn't know what to say for a moment.

Honestly, even now, I couldn't determine what kind of people Richard and Weixi were.

If they were good people, it would be fine, but what if they were bad people?!

All the experiences I had been through had made me extremely cautious.

Now, I was fairly certain that they needed the Zukadi I had.

But if I handed it over, I had no way of predicting what I would face next.

Moreover, I didn't know if Richard's so-called breaking the cage was a good thing or a bad thing.

The only thing I could be sure of was that the Zukadi was a very important item to them.

And this item might determine some very significant matters.

"These items were all brought with us. Honestly, at the time, I didn't know these things would be so important," Richard asked, "Lu, do you not have one?"

I shook my head. "I didn't have anything on me when I arrived..."

Hearing this, Weixi's expression changed slightly. This subtle shift in his demeanor did not escape my notice.

"It's okay..." Richard suddenly relaxed at this point. "It's okay..."

"I'd like to know, what exactly do the two items you have do..." I asked. "Of course, it's fine if it's inconvenient..."

Richard looked at me, then smiled. "Lu, you are the newcomer. Here, we consider you one of our own, so there are no secrets between us..."

"Mm," Weixi nodded, though his expression was still not entirely natural.

"Let's go, take our friend to see," Richard said.

Weixi nodded and looked at the maid behind him. "Please..."

This request, both in wording and tone, did not sound like it was directed at a servant.

The maid smiled. "Yes, Master!"

With that, she walked directly to the side.

It was then that I noticed there was a hidden door in that corner.

The overall decoration style had concealed this hidden door perfectly.

The maid walked to the hidden door and, after operating something, a scanner-like device popped out.

Seeing this, I was a bit stunned. This kind of high-tech item did not seem to belong on the deserted island we had been on before.

I suddenly remembered the question from earlier: where was I now...

However, I would certainly not find the answer in this situation.

After the scanner finished scanning the maid's face, the hidden door slowly opened.

Immediately, a staircase leading downwards appeared in my vision.

"Let's go..." Richard said, walking towards the stairs.

Weixi followed, and after a moment's hesitation, I also went in.

The moment we stepped onto the stairs, the door behind us slammed shut.

But for some reason, in this confined space, I could clearly see the steps.

The stairs spiraled downwards, and from my current position, I couldn't see where they led...
