I forced myself to shift my gaze away from the frenzied Yiwesi, and under Richard's guidance, we entered a small room adjacent to the living room.
This small room was extremely rudimentary, containing only a table and a chair. To my surprise, there was a computer on the table, or rather, a display screen.
Currently, there was a black area on this monitor, as if it had been deliberately covered with black cloth.
"If you had just walked straight past and seen the existence outside, you would now be like Yiwesi, becoming its next meal."
After entering this small room, Richard seemed to have shed a burden from his mind. He then clicked a few times with the mouse, and the black area on the screen suddenly displayed an image.
"This is the surveillance from outside. But don't worry, if you see its existence this way, you won't be contaminated. Although you've already been affected."
I instinctively looked at the monitor, my gaze landing on it. My heart instantly stopped, and all my blood rushed to my heart at that moment, making me incredibly uncomfortable.
I had no doubt that if I had seen this existence by the window just now, my head would likely have exploded like an overripe watermelon.
Damn it, even with humanity's greatest imagination, one could not conceive of the monstrous being now on the monitor.
Under the dark, viscous sky outside, in the streets, formless, drifting ghost lights floated freely in the air.
These ghost lights, emitting a dim, murky glow, instinctively made me aware of danger, as if contact with them would lead to something perilous.
These ghost lights traveled along the road, as if paving the way for that unknowable entity!
And that ineffable, unspeakable anomaly, finally, under the welcoming glow of the ghost lights, revealed its extraordinarily massive yet swollen and rotting body.
Its body, indescribable in words, was larger than any tree I had seen since arriving on this deserted island. The constantly flapping tentacles were like countless fleshy vines, occasionally picking up something from the roadside and shoving it into its increasingly swollen form.
Flesh and blood flowed on its surface, occasionally dripping a drop into the red ocean. A faint glimmer of light might suggest hope, but it was not hope, but rather, masses of sheep's eyes emitting a faint glow!
Holy hell, looking at it this way, Pan was simply the embodiment of justice among deities. Although his body size was comparable to the monster before me, his appearance was far, far better.
I watched helplessly as the sheep's eyes on the monster's body were constantly squeezed out and mercilessly crushed, even leaving behind a shallow, greenish, putrid trail on the ground.
It was nauseating, yet incredibly daunting.
"This is the entity that has been tormenting me?!"
Looking at the flesh-and-blood tentacles flailing everywhere, I felt a chill. With that size, why bother with seduction? Why not just grab with tentacles!
"I don't know."
Richard shook his head, a hint of sadness appearing on his face for some reason.
"To an entity like this, we are merely larger insects. Have you ever seen an ant capable of comprehending the full picture of an elephant?"
I fell silent for a moment. Undeniably, this was a brutal yet realistic truth.
Even a super-human like myself, who had undergone numerous fortuitous encounters and had my body strengthened, dared not claim I could last more than a few rounds against that monster, let alone a normal person.
"By the way, in the living room earlier, you told me not to say a word. Why are you seemingly unconcerned here?"
"This room is special."
Richard pointed to the wall.
What was so special about the wall?
I took a few steps to the wall and ran my fingers along the intricate patterns on its surface.
Hmm?
I brushed it a few times and was astonished to discover that the patterns on the wall formed a picture. The pattern was complex, seemingly carrying some hidden meaning.
If this room were not still shrouded in darkness, I would have definitely tried to see what this pattern was.
"Since I became the master of this house, this room has been the safest place within it. If you were to see the entity outside through surveillance in any other location, you would be contaminated. But in this room, as long as the walls are not damaged, nothing will happen!"
Oh, so according to Richard, this house was a safe house.
"Did you decorate this room?"
"How could I? It was already here when I arrived."
This was heading towards the mystical!
I suddenly understood, looking at the monster on the screen, and a saying suddenly came to mind: only magic can defeat magic.
The monster outside, by all appearances, was not a product of technology. If one were to try and defeat it with modern science, I estimated it would take at least three or four nuclear bombs.
Right now, I hadn't even brought a gun with me, so dealing with the monster outside was truly unrealistic.
"Can I learn magic here?"
