Chapter 82: The Weeping Island

Chapter 82: The Weeping Island

The coffin cracked and broke into pieces, the snakes which felt as if they were carved on the coffin wrapped around Xior’s bicep and got absorbed into his skin and looked as if they were tattoos.

On his hand was a ring which gave off Acheron’s energy, it meant everything was fine. He moved his legs and got out of the pit.

As he stepped foot on the cathedral’s ground, blood erupted from the ground. The whole cathedral shook as if the thing which kept this island intact had been taken away.

Which was true in a way, all the blood the ground sucked in went to Acheron and due to that the island mutated, into something living but now that she was gone, it was back to being a mindless creature.

Acheron, is this supposed to happen?’ He thought and since he has a blood pact with her, she would be able to hear his voice.

I don’t know the details, but this island was made specifically to contain me. If I escaped somehow then they planned on using all this blood to make me stay.’ She replied as he heard her voice in his head.

This was convenient, he could discuss things with her this way without others knowing the information.

Xior dashed out of the cathedral and ran through the city, the normal vampire citizens were in chaos as they ran, dodged and saved their families but it was all for naught.

He saw a family of four get swept by the blood which flooded the streets, Xior jumped high to evade it and used wind bullets to propel him forward.

The cries of the vampires filled the entire cavern, Acheron’s energy flickered as if she was sad for them, even though these were the members of the Bathory Family, one of the families directly involved with her sealing.

The cavern shook violently, it had served its purpose for a millennia and now it was time for it to bury the whole city as if it never existed.

Xior raised his arms and ran through the fallen debris, it broke on contact and he made it out of the cavern in one piece.

Outside it was the same as he saw underground, the trees, grass and everything bled, everything was painted red by the blood.

The ground, the grass and the plants which had once sucked in any and all blood were now giving it back, as if it was some divine retribution for the greed of the island...for Acheron’s greed for blood.

He didn’t waste any time and ran towards the ship, he jumped above fallen trees and tried not to get swept by the blood which devoured everything in its path.

I sense humans, four of them not too far away.’ Acheron said.

Yes, they are my companions. I left them alone for so long.’ He replied, still running towards the ship.

On his way he saw corpses which littered the ground, all of them wore the same armor as the Bathory guards.

The worst case scenario came to his mind but if not for Acheron’s headsup of there being four people alive up ahead he would’ve imagined the worst.

The island sensed Acheron’s energy come from Xior, it could not let her leave the island whatsoever, so the vines on the trees lunged towards him as if they were living beings.

He dodged them but one managed to wrap itself around his leg which made him lose balance and hit the ground hard.

It tightened the grip around his leg and swung him around like he was nothing. He bent and grabbed the vine and ripped it apart with his hand.

As he was high in the air he fell down hard, his back met the ground and he coughed up blood.

"Fuck!" He said and turned on the ground.

He didn’t have much time left so his skill regenerated all of the broken bones and he started to run once again.

In the distance he saw the ship which had brought him here, the vessel was an upgrade from their earlier small boat with holes all over.

On the deck he could see the four women, Alice, Becca, Beatrice and Meeka who looked at the island as it destroyed itself.

Then Beatrice spotted Xior as he ran towards the ship. "Look there, that’s Xior!" She pointed at where he was.

A huge stream of blood erupted from the ground not too far away, it went high in the sky and fell down everywhere and the whole island was flooded, enough that it would take the whole island with it.

It would cease to exist, Xior jumped hard when he was near the ship. He landed on the deck hard and slipped due to it being wet.

He groaned and then got up to see his companions but what he saw left him speechless. Beatrice’s whole body was covered with bandages, Meeka, Alice and Becca too were bandaged up.

He gulped, the words felt stuck in his throat...if only he had come here earlier then this wouldn’t have had to happen.

He walked towards Beatrice slowly and crouched down, "I’m sorry for not being here to keep you safe, Beatrice." He said and put a hand on her head.

"Where the hell were you Xior?" Becca said as she looked at him intensely.

"I found something and was investigating it. There is a vampire city underneath the mountain which has been completely buried under the rubble from all this chaos." He replied.

Are they a part of your harem, you sly fox?’ Acheron said with a chuckle.

What? No...they’re not a part of my harem.’ He replied and sat down.

Yet!’ She teased him.

In the distance as the waves slowly crashed against the hull of the ship, the island exploded into smaller parts with a huge explosion in the middle which created beautiful lights.

It was over now, the weird island, the abandoned village, the vampire city and finally Acheron, the Mother of Depravity.
