Chapter 94: Chapter 94 (Massage chair Extra Chapter)

"That’s enough!" Silas’ powerful voice boomed across the viewing platform, bringing instant silence to the restless Serpentwind disciples arrayed behind him.

His gaze was icy, sword-like, brooking no further whispering. The tension hung like a drawn bowstring.

Flint glanced sidelong at Ethan, his voice as calm as ever.

"You’re collecting more and more enemies, it seems."

Ethan gave a faint, confident smile.

"It hardly matters. I seldom fight for the joy of it, but here—every new enemy is another test for my cultivation. The greater the number, the greater the opportunity."

While they spoke, a white rainbow flashed across the sky, streaking downward at breathtaking speed before alighting on their viewing platform. Several disciples gasped, unable to even register the motion until it ended.

Only Ethan and Flint, ever vigilant, recognized the immense pressure and turned warily.

The newcomer was a striking middle-aged man, clad in sapphire Daoist robes, a luminous jade pendant at his waist. His sword-shaped eyebrows and brilliant eyes gave him an air of immortal detachment; he carried himself with deliberate ease, hands clasped behind his back, radiating both peerless refinement and understated power.

"Dad!" Liana’s face was radiant as she leaped up and ran to his side, wrapping him in an affectionate hug.

The man, his stern features softening, patted her head and smiled gently—a rare warmth blossoming in his eyes.

"Father?" Ethan’s mind sharpened in surprise.

So this was Liana’s father, and his aura was unfathomable—no less potent than the Forbidden Land elders. Suddenly, many things clicked into place: Liana’s easy composure, Elden’s deference to her, the air of quiet respect around her family name.

He wondered, was this man the former master of The Peak? The rumors had been many.

Edwin’s eyes lifted, locking briefly onto Flint.

He alone among the assembled masters knew Flint’s secret: the "fifth commander" of the Black Oath, a shadowy figure whispered of but never acknowledged in public.

Flint bowed subtly, acknowledging the unspoken connection. Edwin nodded once, neither openly acknowledging nor denying Flint’s identity.

At last, Edwin’s attention shifted to Ethan. He studied him without hurry—tall, handsome, eyes faintly mocking, yet possessed of a subtle, retracted strength that defied ordinary judgment. Ordinary at first glance, but the very definition of hidden depths.

"You must be Ethan," Edwin said quietly.

"I am Ethan, I don’t know what to call senior."

"My name is Edwin. I hope you’ll live up to expectations."

Without waiting for a response, Edwin soared off toward the main observation platform, leaving behind a mix of awe and confusion.

Ethan blinked, a dry laugh escaping him.

"What was that supposed to mean?"

Liana returned, catching Ethan’s uncertainty.

"Senior Brother Ethan, my father is like that. He always acts strict and mysterious, but he’s genuinely a good person. Don’t take it to heart."

Ethan brushed it off. "Doesn’t matter to me," he replied nonchalantly, though his mind turned the puzzle over.

He leaned over to Flint. "Senior Brother Flint, what’s the real story with that Senior Edwin?"

Flint answered with his usual straightforward bluntness.

"The previous Peak Master of the Peak—didn’t care for the politics. Handed the position to his junior brother and went into retreat. Doesn’t like people saying his name in public."

"Strange," Ethan mused, "I think it sounds pretty good."

"He just doesn’t like it," Flint shrugged, unconcerned.

Meanwhile, across the field, Allen had just witnessed the entire exchange. His envy was nearly palpable—aching and bitter as he clenched his fists till the knuckles whitened.

Years of painstaking effort had only granted him a single polite nod from Edwin, but Ethan, with mere naturalness and strength, was drawing the strongest to his side, almost without trying.

And what of Edwin himself? Known throughout the Azure Origin Dao Sect as a peerless swordsman and top alchemist, idol of a generation, for a time the sect’s greatest genius before the Empress’s rise.

If not for his obsession with alchemy, he would have surely reached the Mahayana realm already.

Allen’s heart seethed.

"Fine, Elder Edwin and Liana are here—once I defeat Ethan today, turning things around will be easy. Then everyone’s eyes will be on me!"

His confidence sharpened to a hungry edge.

After all, the martial arts competition’s second round was about to begin.

Just as tension began to settle, three more streaks of light split the sky, arcing downward with dazzling brilliance.

From within the radiance emerged three figures: a man and two women. Both women were stunning beauties of surpassing grace and elegance; especially compelling was the Celestial Lotus Peak Master—a vision in pale silk whose hair was loosely gathered by a black ribbon, with starry frost in her eyes and a presence as light and mysterious as falling snow.

"Look! Those are the masters of Celestial Lotus Peak, Carefree Peak, and Sword Peak!"

Conversations rippled up like a wave.

"Master of Sword Peak—one of the four most stunning beauties of the Dao Sect! Who wouldn’t wish to marry someone like her?"

"What’s Sword Peak’s master called?"

"That’s Althea Dusk! Gifted from childhood, the last Saint before Seraphina. After completing the Spiritual Road trial, she gave up her position so Seraphina could take over. She’s the youngest ever to become Peak Master."

Someone whispered, "I’ve heard she comprehended a fraction Mahayana Sword Intent while still in the Soul Formation Realm—other than the Empress, no one else has done that!"

"That’s right! She’s the Sect’s unrivaled swordmaster, once dueling Blood Puppet Sect experts two realms above her and holding them off without falling back. She even killed two of their prodigies at that time!"

"Too incredible!"

"How does she compare with the Empress?"

"They aren’t rivals from the same era, so comparisons aren’t fair. But she’s easily at the very top in beauty and talent!"

Remark after remark sailed through the crowd.

"It’s amazing... This is the grandest Four Peaks Martial Arts Competition in years. First the Saint and Commander Lilith show up, then Elder Edwin, and now three more peak masters."

"Bet they’re all here to take a look at Ethan."

"Envy doesn’t begin to describe it."
