Chapter 86: Why is Mel with us
Andria’s POV
Arlo exhaled like he had been holding his breath the whole time. "We are just getting started; now we have to carry out the plan before we say it’s over."
I forced a smile on my face, "Yes, that’s the main deal."
The night was already far spent, just trying to get my blood, and I felt already exhausted from the strain of bloodlust and transformation. I wonder how I managed to keep it up till now.
"Since we are done with serious business, maybe we can watch some fashion show before retiring to bed," Liara suggested, trying to lift the already sullen mood in the room.
"Great! Or maybe some documentaries," Arlo spoke up.
"I would prefer a nice movie, perhaps that would bring out some emotions from us, I heard movies release stress," Becca said in an excited tone.
I soon zoned out from their conversation and stood up to leave them.
"Aria, you are going to bed?" Becca called out, "We are contemplating watching a movie, a documentary or a fashion show. Anyone you happen to choose amongst these three makes that one the majority vote, and that’s what we will be watching."
I was already way too exhausted to be dragged into the banter because I wouldn’t even be there to watch any of the options, but for the sake of a beautiful evening....
"Aria, are you good?" Liara asked, "I hope this operation isn’t taking its toll on you?"
"I’m good, and I think watching a movie, especially a horror movie, is the best idea for the night. It’s strange to watch a documentary or a fashion show at night," I replied to them and headed straight to the same room where I used the bathroom.
"Thanks for the suggestion, so we are going to watch a movie tonight," Becca squealed, "Goodnight Aria."
As I got to the room, I made sure to shut the door behind me. I wouldn’t want a repeat of what happened earlier. I needed privacy tonight.
Although a part of me felt like everything about them badging into the room while I was in the bathroom earlier was all a hallucination.
My chest ached not just from the blood loss, but from the weight of it all.
Kaelric’s words echoed in my mind. "I know you will come back"
I didn’t want to have to face him even in my dreams, not after what transpired between us yesterday.
Did I even have enough will left? I might just lose myself to him, and that would be my greatest regret.
The bond tugged faintly at my core, that unrelenting reminder of him.
His presence haunted me even when he wasn’t in the room. I replayed everything that had happened today in my mind, the way he had spoken, whispered. They were all the right words meant to bring heat to my core.
Desire replaced bloodlust, and Athena resurfaced.
"Touch yourself if you have to, but just remember that it’s no different from allowing him to take you," she whispered.
"I’ve missed you, Athena. You just disappeared, leaving me no sign, leaving me to that part of me," I murmured.
"Well, we are all a part of you, and you should start accepting that part of you so that you can control it. The sooner the better," she replied in a graceful tone.
I pressed my forehead against the cold bed, eyes closed, and I let it carry me to dreamland.
Tomorrow, we will start the operation, and I need enough rest tonight after everything my body has been through today, especially tonight.

"You still have the guts to show your face around academy grounds," Alexa said, shoving me with her hands.
"You know that you have no loyal supporters and the election is next week, dumb," Tricia added.
The other students who had gathered to watch the scene unfold before them started murmuring
"I wonder why she still walks around freely after what she had done," One of them spoke up.
I turned to face Tricia, "I’ll accept the nonsense, but you and your friend except calling me dumb."
I exhaled, "Now, if you would excuse me, I have a class to attend. I’m not like some jobless students looking for whom to pick on even after the bell for classes had gone," I said, closing my locker and shoving Tricia out of my way.
Tricia tried to pull my hair, but I dodged it reflexively and then turned.
"I hope that you two are not hoping to start a fight with me this morning because I’m not up for it, and if you two try to push me into it, I promise to beat you," I said pointing at the two of them, " To pulp," I finished, turned and quickly left the locker room before they could even muster any comeback.
I walked as fast as my legs could carry me to the laboratory, as we had chemistry lessons this morning, and I was already late.
I walked into the laboratory to find that the only seat remaining was the one in front of Tristan.
The three Alpha successors had come earlier and decided to sit with my friends today. How odd?
"Look who came last," Damon called out as I sat down on the seat opposite Tristan. Only a table demarcated us; therefore, I was literally in front of him, Becca was in front of Arlo, Liara was in front of Damon, and Aven was in front of Mel.
"What’s going on here?" I asked suspiciously.
"A heist, yes, we are organizing a heist. How can you easily forget what we planned to do today?" Arlo blurted out sarcastically.
I ignored him and drew close to Liara, as Liara was on my left while Aven was on my right.
"Why is Mel with us? Why and when was she included?" I whispered into Liara’s ear.
"You missed a whole lot. What took you so long?" Liara whispered back in my ear.
"You know that I don’t trust Mel, so what’s she doing here?, Stop digressing," I retorted in a hushed tone.
"She couldn’t find a place to sit down, as Tracy’s fans wouldn’t let her sit close to them, and here happened to be the only place she was welcomed," Liara replied.
"I hope you didn’t disclose anything concerning our plan yet. She seems more like a spy than an ally to me now," I asked Liara.
Just then, Miss Linda stepped in.
